Best Buy Details

Thanks Jay! this lifts my spirits! I have a real hope it will come out now if it is in the ad.

These ads are created a couple weeks in advance. When this ad was created, it was assumed the phone would have been released for a week already. Id be willing to bet that when the phone does come out, BB will sell it for $249 for the first week.

posted comment on there for ya as guest, good luck man - - so no news on release?

what really worries me is that usually cnet and other reviewers review a phone at least a week before its available to us normal peeps..... and no real reviews have shown up yet except for the wirefly yahoo

Ok so why the hell would they sell it for 250 when it says 300. I mean why would they be so ignorant to release another add if they wont have it in stock again. That is just bad business practice. I am sure if verizon is selling it for 250 then they would price match it if asked.

Plus I doubt best buy would make two different ads in advance one with lower price and one with higher price. I dont know who would do that in advance in their right mind.

Its pretty obvious that BB has long term plans of selling the phone at $300. It shows it with that price in the buyers guide. They were planning on having a opening week sale at $249.

As far as the ad goes, yes I know it seems odd, but if you think about how things have gone down, it makes sense. We found out about this weeks ad exactly two weeks ago tomorrow. Two weeks seems to be the lead time on releasing these ads. It seems clear that until very recently, the release date was the 24th. This was just changed a day or so ago, not nearly enough time to re-create a new ad. Next weeks ad was created under the assumption that the phone had already been out for a week, and thus the sale was over.

I specifically asked instore at BB tonight about price matching. The rep's response was that it has to be a physical store (no kidding) and then said, "why? Where did you see it?"

I was like nowhere, VZW hasn't even confirmed a date yet, nevermind pricing. Lol

Jay do you not think that if they figured at least a little bit as of 2 or so days ago that there was even a chance that they might not get the phone this week that BBY wouldn't have printed an ad correction?

They are just trying to top how horrible the Veriphone launch was. This whole thing reeks of Jobs and sake.

"They thought the iphone launch was bad, wait till they see this!" - Verizon
