If you check out the XDA development forum, the HTC Inspire 4G, is fairly difficult as of now to root. You have create some kind of gold card in order to root it, and judging by what others who have posted on the forum, is not an easy process.

Considering that the Thunderbolt and the Inspire are fairly similar devices, I wonder whether we will have to use this same gold card method in order to root the Thunderbolt when it comes out. I believe that there will be more dev for the Thunderbolt than the Inspire, but now that we're so caught up in the excitement of the Thunderbolt's release, there still might be a lot more work involved getting the phone S-off like the Inspire is now.

Any thoughts?

The HTC Incredible was certainly announced a week or so prior to its release day. And actually Corporate accounts (me) could pre-order the day after it was announced.

Ok, well someone had said that they have just up and released a phone without an announcement before, like it they just decided to release the tb on Monday. But said that they did the same thing with the dinc, but it was announced for preorders then sold 10 days later, so I guess my question is if they to release it Monday will that mean it's available Monday or what.

With that being said, we wouldn't get our hands on the phone until 3/10 if a preorder is done and going by the vzw Thursday release. Thoughts?

with BB having the exclusivity the Pre orders seem to be left to BB and not VZW
