Best Buy Details

Okay obviously we ALL are optimistic. However keep in mind, this is BGR. He has only "confirmed" one other time (I believe 2/14) and we can pretty much agree that VZW pulled the plug on that, which was not his fault (or AC/PH/DL etc). So really a guy who has made it his business (and sold for millions) for inside scoop/contacts this is pretty much GOLD IMHO.

I totally agree with you blue except I think that there needs to be a disclaimer, and you brought it up. BGR may have confirmed the date as 3/21 and that may be the set date as of now, however, VZW can always nix that date just like the nixed the 2/14 date. I am optomistic but realistic as well.

Last I heard, the Skype app just isnt ready and they are still working out the kinks but do still plan to release it at a later date once they have it fixed. I saw someone mention in a post that they are using a different video chat feature but I have seen no links to articles with that story.
 
It's just getting a little tough to be optimistic at this point. I try, but I also try not to get too excited because I'm tired of being disappointed. I got the Incredible to tide me over until the TB is ready and now I feel like I can wait it out much more easily and just live with the "it'll be ready when it's ready" approach.

I called verizon as my exchange window of 30 days at bb is the 17th. verizon said they could not give me the upgrade discount if i returned b/c of the 14 day window... did you get the contact of a rep that could do this?

Yes, two quotes but NEITHER mention the TB directly. So, no, "the phone" referring to the TB is not what was said. Both I have read say PHONES (plural) in the first half of the year.

BB store manager will extend my exchange window so that is the easiest course of action for me. I did not call VZW back... I am hoping they will give me an early upgrade on one of my other lines so I didn't want to raise hell on the exchange issue. Good luck!

I had a BB mobile manager offer me a extended return period as well.(turned it down and will return 14 days until I know what the 4G data plans looks like) can't hurt to ask.
 
Hey guys, I went to one of my local VZW stores today and asked about the Thunderbolt. I pre ordered mine at best buy on the first day and havent been to verizon yet. I asked about the phone and the Rep pulled one out. I got to play with it for a little bit even though it was plugged in. I then asked the rep the typical. When is the release date? Why isn't it out yet? She said she was told it would not come out til April. I really don't want to believe that lol. As for why it's not out, she said that they have not got the phone to last more than two hours before dying in the store. She then pointed out that that is why the charger was in while i was playing with it. She said the batteries are being replaced. Maybe this could be the reason for SKU change. If they are adding a bigger battery, they would have to change the battery on the packaging and change the SKU. idk maybe that is just wishful thinking. Anyway, everyone has been wrong so far it seems like, so i will not be surprised if she is too. She sounded pretty confident though.

Was the phone connected to 4G? If it wasn't then I don't know if I'd believe that the phone was having an issue with the battery and it wasn't connected to 4G considering HTC already makes a lot of phones for Verizon on 3G without battery issues. My TP2 is on 3G and lasts all day with a 1500 battery.

Not that it should cause that bad of battery life, but could possibly contribute: do you know what kind of service they get at that store? full service, ify service, no service, 3g, 4g, no g?

Yeah they get 3g service. That sort of made me nervous. I'm not even in the market for 4g but im surrounded by 3 of them that are about an hour away lol.

I know many of you out there will be skeptical of first time posters in situations like this (and for good reason), but I put money down for a Thunderbolt preorder from the Best Buy in Glendora, CA on February 6 and have been strung along like all of you. This past Monday though, I got a call from this store saying that they are expecting the Thunderbolt in on the week of March 20th and will notify me as soon as it gets in. I sat on the info but with the 21st being a date that's been thrown around more the past couple days, I thought I would share this. I know this is only feeding the beast that has become aggravating speculation, but I thought I would pass this along. As has been learned by all following this, nothing is official until Verizon stops fumbling the launch and makes an announcement... but since that hasn't happened yet, I'll light a candle and join in this madness with you.

Curious: Why did you wait over a week to pass along the info?
 
Oh, and by your tag I'm guessing you're a Ducks fan. I'm a huge Penguins fan, but instead of looking at our differences instead I'd like to focus on having another HOCKEY fan on board. ;)

I called he said I cant because the 30 days is bound by contract and that he cant authorize that.... but isnt the 30 days just best buy? I am going to call other bb's and try but i guess the one closest to me was never so smart or am i wrong?

I got the call 3 days ago and didn't feel ready to feed the speculation beast, but since the 21st has been thrown around more I thought I would give some fellow peons hope that the big boys at Verizon are getting ready to release the phone soon.

If it's delayed past the 21st, I've already got the pitchforks and torches ready to go and we can march on the Glendora store that weekend...

And yeah, big Ducks fan but hockey fan above all else. Thankfully it is helping to keep me distracted a bit from this stuff, except when my Storm crashes during intermissions at games and start thinking about the T-bolt.
 
oh by the way, the inspire does not have a front facing camera, for those who are talking about it. I have used one personally. There is no option the camera menu to switch to the front view. If there is one there it certainly isn't functional.

I'm growing SOO tired of the constant (changing) rumors. I bought an Inspire on a 30 day trial from ATT. That's up on the 28th. I think that's it for me. I will either keep the Inspire or go with an EVO. I use my phone for browsing, email, music and light gaming. The newer processor is not a big deal for me. I'm not bitching and moaning... it's just the way it is. I WILL have an HTC 4.3" phone by the 28th. Whether it's the Bolt or not remains to be seen.

I originally went with VZW because it was the only service that I could get reliably at my desk at work. Over the past month, everyone at work has been having problems with their VZW service, so that advantage is null and void. At this point, I go with whoever will provide the phone I want

I've experienced some weird stuff happening with my phone as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with 4G going up. They're probably using some 3G resources to improve 4G for the thunderbolt's release.

Lol, I always knew we could coexist.
I've never been one of those fans to flaunt anything in anyone's face. I keep my obnoxious contained to my own living room or the occasional trip to Pit. You're having a hell of a season, I can't deny that.

I'm not one of those either. In my living room, I've called most of the Penguins a lot of bad things, LOL. I respect the talent on that team, and I think what's happened to them as far as injuries this year is awful.

Back on topic, the Inspire is an awesome phone, but I would prefer the TBolt (or even the EVO) because of the FFC
