I thought there was an app to get rid of the camera sound but it was for the boot sound, so only other way is if your rooted.

If your rooted here is the sound I blanked that is working with the stock camera app and FxCamera so should work for anything, there are more sounds that you can blank but this did it for me. If you need other sounds gone you should be able to just make a copy of this same file and rename it to whatever else you wanna replace as long as it's still the same .ogg extension.

There are a few camera apps without sound. Your best bet is to try some and see which one you like the best.

I use Angel Camera .... I like the options that it has.

I took the camera_click.ogg file out of system/media/audio/ui and moved it to downloads (in case I should want it again) and my camera is silent now. Using Camera Zoom FX.
