Best Case for HTC M8

Hi,

I've just got my 1st HTC M8 and it's a really nice phone and I prefer to keep it that way.

I'm used to have a S-Line gel case on my old phone which was a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I found that I could have a glass screen protector on the S4 and still fit the gel case on. Same can't be said for the M8. I have the glass screen protector on and my newly bought gel cases wrap around the phone edge and will break the glass protector.

As I'm a lady, I mostly keep my phone in my bag when I'm not using it and I like the girly colours that the gel cases offer. I don't like holding a wallet case up to my ear as it looks stupid or I feel stupid.

I don't fancy a DOT View case either. What can anyone suggest please ?

My fiance recently dropped his phone face first on the concrete getting out the car and although the tempered glass break, the actual phone screen was unmarked so they do work.

Thanks. x

The Spigen Slim Armor has been reviewed by many and loved by many.

It is my personal favorite for a few reasons.

1. The design closely matches the design language of the phone.
2. The design is very detailed and neat.
3. No screen cover that takes away from the beauty of the screen.
4. There's a ridge that goes around the screen to protect it.
5. Not too bulky.
6. Rubber cushioning.
7. Removable plastic backing for different colors.
8. Buttons click very well.

Only downside, to me, is that it covers the IR blaster, which I do use to control my TV. I still think it's worth it. If you don't use it.. no worries.

Many people have complemented the case, and some have said that they didn't even realize there was a case on the phone.

I have the clear spigen one and would recommend it as you see the metal skin of your phone and it looks good. It also increases grip so no chance of it sliding from your grasp.
I also use a tempered glass screen and am pretty confident my phone is protected.
I have had it now for about 11 months and not a mark on my phone.

I originally got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case with a screen protector. I didn't think it provided enough protection. I agree with dil_s13 about the Slim Armor except the blocking of the IR Blaster bothers me. I use the remote a lot so I tried hollowing out the power button on the case. It worked but not well. I finally found the Case-Mate Naked Tough Case on Amazon. (See photo) It's a crystal clear case so it doesn't hide the beauty of the phone. It's slim and provides a solid non-slip surface. I know it works with a glass screen protector because I have one. It's a two part case and provides excellent protection. I've dropped the phone on carpet, wood and tile at all angles without getting a scratch. I had the same case for my HTC DNA Droid in black. They really provide excellent every day protection. FYI, I wouldn't get the Seidio Dilex because it doesn't fit the M8 very well. (I tried 3) :)

I personally don't use one this time around. When I got one back in September though, I put a matte black dBrand skin on just to help with the slipperiness of the phone. For some reason, I don't typically case Android devices. Meh

I have a clone of that case, which I like so far. It could have a little more grip though. If the IR blaster is the little spot just to the right of the power button, I took a hole punch & clipped out a little half moon area. I don't have a TV to test it on right now.

Unfortunately, you made a hole for nothing. On the M8, the IR Blaster is the power button. You can confirm this by searching for "Where is IR Blaster on HTC One M8" Anyway, I tried putting a hole in the case's power button and it worked a little. The problem was it narrowed the IR beam so much that I had to be dead on with my aim.

What area to the right of the power button are you guys talking about. The case i like the most is made by UAG. Here is the same thing I have for my m8 on my m9.
