That's one reason I rooted and have installed a custom ROM. Trackball Wake (you can also set it up for Trackball Wake and Unlock as well).

So can you guys comment on how this case feels when inside your pocket?

I always choose plastic-y cases over ones that involve any kinda silicone skin because they seem to be hard to get in/out of pockets.

Otterbox Commuter owners, what are your thoughts??

Since it's covered with the hard plastic almost whole it's easy to get it in and out.

I have yet to have an issue with this case putting the phone in or taking it out of my pocket.

There isn't enough silicone exposed on the sides/back to make it grab your pocket. Although, like all silicone cased, the top and bottom parts that are exposed do attract and cling to dust, but just blowing it off solves that.
