Best Case

Hey guys..I am looking for a case that doesn't add much mass at all that will provide goo protection from drops..and such. Any ideas

I just got the otterbox commuter. I like it alot and the size is comparable to the jelly case just slightly thicker. Even has a cover for the charging port. Sleek too

i bought the incipio last week and its great. it covers the hdmi port but i never use it so oh well. i have the all black one and it looks sleek.

I like the Verizon black TPU case. Fits great and dosent cover the ports. The power button is also exposed for easy access.

Right now, I'm running one of the cheap TPU cases from Amazon. It is really good and I feel protected. But, I just ordered the Otterbox Commuter because this case makes it difficult to his the volume rocker and the power button.

I have three cases. The VZW Hawk, the Amazon TPU Case, and the Droid X2 leather case.

When I am running naked with the extended battery (Figure 9.99 replacement back can get scratched up) with Steinheil Ultra Crystal Screen Protector. This setup can be paired with the Droid X2 leather holster, it fits well naked-non extended, naked-extended its a little snug and face out only.

Also when I roll extended, the VZW Hawk Plastic holster face protection side fits as well and gives you a belt clip.

The Amazon Smoke Argyll TPU case fits really well with Steinheil, also will fit the VZW Hawk Plastic Holster when in the TPU Case.

And last but not least, the VZW Hawk Holster with wrap around Case fits well, it is light, however the bottom edge does not feel smooth as it does with the TPU Case or naked. It sort of cuts a line in your hand after holding it a while.

Amazon TPU Smoke Argyll by Cruzer
Amazon.com: Smoke Argyle Flexible TPU Cover Skin Phone Case for SAMSUNG DROID CHARGE 4G LTE / i510 by Cruzer: Cell Phones & Accessories

I picked up this one for for less than 4 bucks shipped! Amazon.com: Flexi Gel SKin TPU SMOKE With CHECKERED PLAID Design Sleeve Glove Soft Cover Case for SAMSUNG DROID CHARGE 4G LTE / i510 [WCP229]: Cell Phones & Accessories

It is just ok. Fits great and looks nice, but the power button and volume buttons are difficult to press now. This is just a temporary case though till Seidio comes out with a case & dock combo. I had it for my OG Droid and it worked great. Especially since the dock worked with or without the case on  Hopefully the Charge version will be the same

I hate the otterbox, especially the monstrous defender. When I see customers put their iPhones in them it looks so goofy.
But the one for the Charge looks kinda awesome.

I'm not quite sure what the difference is between these two. I got the Cruzer model (the first link) for $4.99 shipped off Amazon. Hard to beat the price. It fits great, feels nice, and has extra large cutouts for the usb, headphone, and microHDMI ports. It does make the buttons hard to press, but I've gotten accustomed to using the edge of my fingernail to get good response. I had the Verizon black silicone case on my Incredible and liked it, but it's just too pricey for basic protection versus some of the aftermarket stuff.

Depends on what you do day to day. But overall imo nothing compares to Otterbox. I currently use the Commuter case (most Otter users do) but will be getting the Defender when it launches for the Charge next month.

The Commuter is great for most users who have a normal day to day routine ect. But if your like me and work outdoors (contruction for example) nothing compares to the Defender cases. They add bulk yes but the damn things are almost unbreakable. Have had a Blackberry in a Defender take a 3 story drop onto concrete and it came out without a scratch. Hell the Defender case itself wasn't even cracked or damaged.

So with the otter box-commuter can the phone still fit in a pants pocket or dress shirt pocket. I don't work construction...but I do tend to drop my phone now and again...looking for something that will protect it from a 4 ft drop..or so...and still allow me to slide it into my pockets...I have the cheap rubberized case from verizon and am not to confident in it's ability to protect the phone.

Thanks everyone for all the input

Yes the Commuter is pretty thin. Has a rubber sleeve and a hard shell that goes around it. Also includes a screen protector.

Fits in my pocket easily and should survive a small drop no problem. Best place to get them imo is ebay btw. Think on Otterbox its 34.99 but got mine for 22.49 with free shipping new in the box.

The Verizon holster case is great for me. Check Ebay, I've seen them for 1/2 price of Verizon.

Which one? I bought a Qmadix QM-HP900-XL from my local store.

Thanks guys..I got the incipio today but may switch to the otter-box commuter...the incipio is preety cool I like how it feels...JUST no HDMI port...oh..well don't use it much. Is the Otter box the same size as the incipio about. The incipio I have is two piece like..rubber inside..hard outter shell

Hi Outter box users...I just looked at the commuter and it looks pretty cool..couple questions...it says is has a silcon plug for the micro USB..is that attached to the box..because if it's not I would loss it. Also it looks like the silicon portion of it covers and protects the 4 main buttons at the buttom of the phone..do you have any problems with pressing the buttons?

Ya the plugs are all attached to the silicone sleeve portion of the case. And no worries on the buttons they work great. In fact the silicone sleeve fits onto the device rather loosely. Once you put the polycarbonate shell ontop of that it pretty much locks everything into place perfectly.

I love Otterbox because every single Commuter/Defender case is custom designed to fit only your model. No universal fit here so everything comes out perfect.

P.S. The screen protector that comes with it is molded for the Charge screen as well. Though to be honest i never use them because i prefer Invisible Shield for that.

Video that explains the case below (though in this example it's an iphone).

What about the Seidio surface case? I had one for my Fascinate and it worked well and I liked the belt holster/clip

A month late... But I have one and love it. Check the forums for my review (can't link easily from the AF app).

Let me add another late comment. I got the smoke argyle case from Amazon as well. It makes the volume and the power buttons hard to press, but I like that because I turned off my lockscreen and didn't want to have my phone turning on whenever something jostled it. I have to remember not to press the button too hard though because it turns off the phone. I like that it keeps the slim profile of the phone. It covers the plastic case which I have scratched up before and doesn't cover the front, which is pretty hard to ding up.

I bought a case from verizon, it was the only one they had, its a shell holster combo, but is has a sliding back that makes a kickstand. Awesome for setting up the phone to watch vids.
