Best Case

I've been looking for a case for my phone. I'm stuck between a soft and a hard case.

What do you prefer and why?

I'm surprised there are not many responses for this. I am also looking for the best case that will protect the phone but doesn't add too much bulk. I don't plan on throwing my phone against brick walls, so big cases like the Defender are out of the question.

I got one of those floppy silcone cases planning to get a better case later on. Im starting to really like it though because its easy to take it off to change out the battery or place on the dock - i do both daily. Not the best case, but works for me.

What I am waiting on is some pics of the Otterbox Commuter AND for Seidio to release their case (which is still under development) to make a decision between those 2 probably

I just got an Otterbox Defender case yesterday. It is huge. The desk top dock that came with the Bionic from Costco will not work even with the rubber cover off. I can plug the battery charge tether cord into it.

I really like the Defender cases. I have one for my Touch. I think will be using the Defender on the Bionic when it needs the protection.

I'm waiting for a double case from Seidio, which is a soft inner case with a hard outer shell. Until then I have purchased the Double Shell case offered by Verizon that is manufactured by Incipio.

I've had a Droid X, a Thunderbolt, and now the bionic. My preference is a Zagg Invisishield for just the screen and a Body Glove case. I like being able to remove the clip for a flat back on the BG since I usually keep my phone in my shirt pocket, but I'd say it all depends how you use a phone. This works best for me, but may not for you.

I have this one with a screen protector all for 28 dollars.. Phone feels real protected as the silicon is pretty thick. Dont seem to add bulk to the phone. IMO..

I have the black one.

I had the Shell/Holster case from VZ for my DX and it was very good. I got the same case for my Bionic and it has been upgraded and now has space for the extended battery. Beefier kickstand also. Excellent Bionic case for $29.99 without discounts at the VZ store.

TPU cases are my absolute favorite after having one on my TBolt!! They are thick enough to protect the phone in cases of drops and stuff, shiny or matte, don't stick to fabric like silicone, but sticks to glass surfaces well, gives some grip, makes the phone feel tough, doesn't detract from the beauty too much, doesn't scratch, are a dime a dozen, doesn't pop off if the phone's dropped like some plastic cases, offers a wide variety of styles, gives a little gap between the screen and surfaces...

I could go on and on about how much I have grown to love my TBolt's TPU case over the months. It was the best $3 shipped I've spent on any case I've ever had! It offers the protection I need and doesn't make me sacrifice easy pocket placement like some other "grippy" cases that glue themselves to anything, especially fabric and lint.

Well, what I prefer and what I need is two different things.

I prefer no case as a case hides the beauty of the phone and makes it bigger. If I didn't work outside, I would just sleeve it and throw it in my pocket.

However, I do work outside, I am under houses in tight spaces, up on roofs, in the rain, and moving around like a tornado. Any phone I have goes through hell and back so I need a rugged case.

I ended up with the Otterbox Defender.

That being said, I think anyone would prefer no case, but we get them depending on our needs of protecting the phone.

Had the defender for a few days but was way too big for my liking, also collected to much crap from my pockets and was a pain to pull out of my pocket due to the tacky rubber. Got my commuter case however and love it

I prefer no case, and therefore use just a sleeve to protect it when I'm not using it.

Ditto.

I have the extended battery with the cover and it does not fit in any rubberized TPU cases I have seen so when it needs to be out it is naked and when i put it away I use a sleeve with a removable clip which I can put on my belt or slide into my pocket without it.

Anybody get this case? Incipio SILICRYLIC Hard Shell Case. I think it looks sweet. I just ordered it.... 15% off with code FBFAN2011

Update on my message: My body glove arrived yesterday, and after having two on different phones, I'm disappointed with the Bionic Body Glove. It doesn't seem to fit as well, and it won't work with the dock. It fits, but evidently the connection on the dock is not quite long enough, because it won't charge/go into dock mode.

I have that case (black/black) for my bionic and am a little disappointed. The main reason is because the silicone or rubber (whatever it is) inner case covers up the notification light, so I had to cut it with a razor blade and it looks kind of ghetto. It makes the phone a lot thicker, too. It protects really well, but I may look for something thinner/better designed..

i just got the otterbox commuter and I like it. The only thing I dislike is taking the phone out of the case every time I want to use my navigation dock in the car. I didnt realize that the otterbox has the silicone wrap and then a hard shell... feels pretty secure in this case. Much more durable then the verizon rubber skin and I like the fact that the ports are covered.
