Hello im a brand new member, i currently own a ios device but its kinda getting boring now, now i really want a android but the problem is that i cant afford those high end superphones :(. So i need help on choosing since there is a large selection of phones. What is a quality phone that i can buy that is within $200-199?

Is the $200 limit with 2-year contract subsidy or full price? Because if it's subsidized, that's about the going rate for the high-end smartphones. You can get even the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S II for $199 (Amazon) with 2-year contract. There are also plenty of nice Android phones that are going for free with T-Mobile's weekend promotion.

I never know about that but you mention that i can buy the samsung galaxy s2 for $199 but i see that the suggested retailer price is over 500 what does that mean? sorry i never own a phone before and my mom would be buying it for my birthday coming up soon

Oh and btw i see on t-mobile that they have a selection of free phones on the website how do that work and what is the trick? do i really have to pay anything?

Since your mom's paying, what plan does she have with T-Mobile? The promotional pricing is only available for the Classic Plans. Basically, with the Classic Plans, you pay a higher monthly bill but you generally get the phones for low or no upfront cost. T-Mobile also has the Value Plan wherein you pay a lower monthly fee but need to pay for the full cost of the phone.

The Classic Plan is pretty much what everyone has. The only exception to that are those on T-Mobile's Value Plan or are using prepaid.

It really depends what you want to use your phone for. I have the wildfire s and it's cheap and pretty good. You are quoting in dollars -do they have T-mobile in the USA? I'm from the UK you see so thought it was only in the UK.

Not sure what the UK has to offer, but for a cheap Android that get's the job done I'd go with the Zio or the Optimus. Played with both and they both seem pretty nice.
