best desktop view app?

I don't know about desk top applications, but you can check the box for viewing desktop site.

Tap menu - desktop site.

I've been using TeamViewer for over a year. It's free for personal use and works VERY well for Android, Mac, Linux, et al. It works perfectly. I have no complaints and no feature-requests.

I use it on my PC and on my Android phone to remotely view and control my (and my family's) PCs and Macs. (It also works with Linux PCs). I can remotely control my (and my family's) PCs and Macs, either from the LAN or the WAN-- even over a 3G cellular connection. It's very easy to use and it just works-- always.

* The (free) full version lets you control other PCs/Macs and lets them control you.
* The (free) "Host" version lets that PC be controlled (but not control other PCs).
* The Android app lets you control other PCs/Macs but doesn't let the Android device be controlled.

I load the (free) full version on my main desktop-PC, my main laptop-PC, and I intall the Android app on my phone. But I only load the (free) "Host" version onto my family's PCs and Macs. The "Host" version lets me control their PCs but they can't control mine. You can optionally set up the "Hosts" so that you can automatically connect to them whenever they're online. (They'll get a pop-up warning that somebody is taking over their PC and they can kill the control if they want.) It basically lets me be the remote tech-support guy for my parents, wife, kids, et al. And I don't have to call them and tell them which sequence of things to do in order to launch a remote desktop session. (Before TeamViewer, it used to take me about 10 frustrating minutes on the phone trying to talk my parents through the procedure to launch a Windows Remote Desktop session!) Now I can see whenever their PC is online, and I can drive their PCs, literally with one-click, just like I'm there with them. You can also transfer files, do audio or video conferencing, etc. You can even reboot the PC and automatically reconnect when it comes back up. That's very useful for tech support.

TeamViewer can also be used to run a PC as a headless server (with no monitor, keyboard, or mouse) because you can just control it remotely. If you pair TeamViewer with a Wake-On-LAN app (and set up your PCs & router to enable Wake-on-LAN) you can even wake up the PC remotely and then control it.

If you want to control an Android phone from a PC, try Webkey.

Good luck!
