Best Facebook App

I dont like the pre loaded fb app i never get any notifications.. i always have to manually refresh it for the new notifications to come up...

And im coming from the BB Tour so it had a really good facebook app

Also when i tried to use the SMS pop up and the Handcent SMS and they both gave me an error.. is there any other app i could try?
 
I used to use one called Bloo which wasn't bad... but it's a pay app. (I think it was $2). I started using (on my G1) the standard Facebook app when they released it. But there are still a couple things that Bloo does better I think.

Yes i know, mine worked for about 5 minutes when i first got it now it never updates. I am sure they will get it worked out. Guess its part of the first device 2.0 blues

There has got to be a better one....there are NO notifications that work, nor can you reply to them when they did without going to the web....even the BB app was better....
 
While it's not completely instant, you can have fb email you when something happens and have that email notify the phone. It works well for me since the emails come before the fb notification does. Alternatively, I believe there is an interval option you can change in the app – I believe the default is 1 hour.

Now, I just wish I could poke and check my inbox from the app.
 
the iPhone FaceBook developer just quit developing for the iPhone platform, maybe he'll jump on the Android side, and improve the Android FB app.

It seems unlikely that he will. He stated that he will now focus on developing the online aspect of facebook (i think he said the mobile version, not sure)
 
Man, I thought i was losing my mind and thought it was a case of not knowing how android worked or whatever when i wasn't getting any notifications on facebook. i thought it was because i have my email assoc with my facebook account actually going through the gmail client instead of the android email client that goes with the phone. I know it was kinda like that with BB. So, am i understanding that everybody just gets the standard email notifications when the receive something on facebook? That's kinda odd.....isn't Android supposed to be superior and great and all this stuff?
 
All of a sudden tonight I got notifications from FB with the ability to reply. It was right after I had read this thread so it was weird. I didn't get an update on the phone so I'm not sure what made it suddenly work.
 
I hope someone makes an app that works like the facebook app does on my storm. I'm constantly taking pics with my storm and sending them straight to facebook, and the push notifications on the storm are great. My droid is due to arrive Tuesday, so hope theres an equal FB app for it

You can take pictures and automatically send them to FB. I was at a football game last night sending pics to FB.
 
Have to agree. Sending pictures is great. Pictures themselves aren't that spectacular, but, it's still a phone camera..can't get past that. The no notifications and always having to be redirected to the mobile site to do anything is kinda stupid though.
 
I'm trying something new. Last night I got a notification from the fb app that I had a new friend request. It was out of the blue since I hadn't had a notification update in a while. I decided to check my default settings and noticed that emails were off for this.

Now, I'm going to try to turn off the email notifications for the things that the fb app does, and see if that gets the notifications working again.

Did any of you others have the fb app notifications turned on as well as the email notifications from fb itself?
