Best FM Transmitter for SGS2?

Excellent.

I see it says "Charges your device while driving". Is this also true in the case of the SGS2, or is it only relative to i-Pods? Be a real neat transmitter if it did.

From the looks of the pictures of the universal one, the plug that goes into your cigarette lighter has a USB port on it to be able to charge your device but it doesn't supply that cable, so you'd have to use your USB data transfer cable from the box to do so.

But pretty sweet functionality as you say :)

Absolutely! Gotta try this. Thanks for the link.

I am assuming it will also keep the actual transmitter charged also:)

Bad news.

I just tried to order the FM transmitter/charger and got the following message:

"Important Message
Belkin FM Transmitter - Tunecast Auto 6 Universal with Clearscan (F8Z439EA) cannot be shipped to the selected address."

Apparently this item cannot be shipped to the Irish Republic:mad:

What?! That is crazy! Interestingly, I just typed in www.amazon.ie in my address bar and it took me straight to the .co.uk site

Have you ordered from Amazon UK before? Only other thing is to google search the name of the product and see if any sites in Ireland sell it?

*edit*

Found it on Dabs.ie but it says 'Ordered upon request' so not sure about wait/stock times

I actually placed an order with Dabs.ie before seeing your link, this was after doing some research after being declined by Amazon. Dabs is a bit more expensive but at least they'll ship it to me....as to when it will come, now that remains to be seen.

Amazon.uk for some reason only ship certain items to certain countries outside of the UK...I had this trouble before with them. I have been using them for years.

That's really weird why Amazon will only ship certain items. I can understand if it's a product not yet released or something to do with laws, but they have it on Dabs so it can't be for those reasons.

Glad you've got an order placed. I'm definitely gonna have to check the finances to see when I can get one as it looks ace :)

Strange indeed.

When mine turns up I will write a report as to its effectiveness. One thing I am anxious to check is if there'll be any humming or interference sound as the power comes directly from the cigarette lighter.

I had a Belkin transmitter for use in the car with my iPhone but I stopped using it because there was too much interference. I'm no audiophile but the sound quality was very variable. Sometimes it was OK but often there would be loud hissing like someone tuning a radio and I also had to hop channels frequently. In the end I just got fed up with it.

That's too bad. Was it one that plugs into the cig-lighter?

Yes it was, but I don't think that was the problem. In the UK there are quite strict rules about FM transmitters and I think that it was just too low powered. The interference did not seem to be related to the engine, just normal radio interference like you often seem to get during stormy weather.

My sample of one is hardly statistically significant, but it put me off buying another.

I think most plug into the ciggy lighter. The last one I had (not Belkin) was good while it lasted, but because it was a cheap one it didn't last that long. The main problem I had was trying to find a 'spare' channel, but this one comes with Clearscan which apparantly does all the hard work for you!

Bump. I too am interested in this. Specifically I want an FM transmitter for use with car stereo and my i9100 and I want the car charger to charge the transmitter and phone. Any other suggestions?
