Best GN2 Screen Protector

I tend to sell my phones after 6 to 12 months, generally to companies that recycle them. Ok, I don't get top dollar for them but is it us a safe way of selling them. Anyway, they don't tend to bother with scratches on the screen so I have never bothered with screen protectors as to me it spoils the experience of using the phone as it was intended.

I just make sure I have a case on that's suitable for what I'm doing.

Night out is the Samsung flip case.
General use is a d3o impact case
At work in the field will be a defender

X2. They are terrible and drop a phone the screen usually cracks anyway.
 
check out the spygen ultra oleophobic. many seem to really like them. I ordered some based on the reviews from the thread above.
 
I like to use the phone without a screen protector but I'm scared not to have one, so I do. Got the Ultra Crystal from Spigen. I also have a night out cover. Insured aswell with
 
I was talked into buying a $30 screen protector, which sounded alright since it could be removed and washed as many times as needed over the life of the phone. However, it distorts the picture terribly, making the screen glossy/blurry, and on top of that the surface has some sort of texture to it that makes it the opposite of smooth. It's uncomfortable with both thumb/finger scrolling and tough to draw on with the pen.

Needless to say I'm going bare now and don't foresee any issues. My last 2 android phones I never had an issue with scratches, and even if minor scratches occur, I've seen with other phones that when the screen is turned on they aren't really even noticeable.

I couldn't agree with you more. I've yet to put another on my phone after taking it off. Loving how the screen feels without it.

or you could use a case with a flip cover/wallet-type case so that screen is protected when you tuck it in :D

I never have used a screen protector and probably never will, I personally just never saw the need for one.

My spigen olephobics finally showed up today, let them warm up from the mailbox, then built up enough courage to put one on. After I got the thing lined up enough for my tastes I'm pretty happy with it.
 
Just an interesting point I learned tonight......... I THOUGHT I had a clean install until I started taking flash pictures of my screen to post here. There's dust under the film that my eye can't even see but the camera sure picks it up..... yuck. No pictures to post anymore.... to embarrassing lol.

Same here!!! I posted pictures on the previous page to show how the MobC protector fit and couldn't see any dust until the picture with the flash showed me how imperfect my install was....... stupid picture :(

That was my original idea when I got the phone. But I opted for something to protect the corners and a gel sleeve over the volume/power buttons. My last phone crapped out from pushing the power button too many times and over time something must have gotten underneath it. Not only does the gel sleeve help with that, but the light notification on the GN2 means pushing the power button just to check notifications is no longer necessary :D

But I digress... the natural feel of the screen is just too damn good. I guess screen protectors are like condoms... You don't REALLY need one if you're careful pulling it out!

Funniest.....post.....ever!!!

Totally agree with the notification light, seems silly for this high end of a phone, but was the feature I was looking forward to the most. I have missed these on phones for a long time, not sure why such a great idea got lost on newer phones.

I feel like I need to post a second review of this. Its been 16 days and I'm much less upset. It's almost as if the "lenses" have been worn down. Much less interference with the s-pen and my finger and much less crap being collected on the screen. Unfortunately my terrible placement of the protector has caused me to be annoyed with the placement. So I've put the second protector on, so I'm back to square one.
 
Just got this today from MobC

Stuck it on, nice cut, leaves about a 3mm gap around the edge cause of the curved surface of the screen.

Comes supplied with all you need to fit and remove any dust particles.

Stuck on straight perfectly, no bubbles no dust, looks perfect at the moment.

Feels nice, not as nice as the bare screen, but good enough for a screen sticker.

Notice a tiny bit of rainbowing reflection, but only when the screen is off!


I'll report back in a few weeks time if my opinion changes however
 
No one in the whole mall had screen protectors for the Note 2 when I bought it except for this ghost armor stand. It is supposed to be cutting edge technology with a lifetime guarantee. $25 out the door, I figured it's worth a shot.

Anyone know much about this? So far its fine but it went on 5 min after I bought the phone so I guess I can't really compare bare to skin.
 
I have some secondary thoughts regarding the Oleophobic protector and some of the complaints about the smudging being difficult to clean.

I'm noticing now what people were referring to, but...I only notice it when I'm using soft cotton materials (or any kind of soft material) to clean the screen. If I just use a tissue, micro fibre sunglass cloth, or some other more rough material, it actually cleans much easier. It's only the softer materials that I'm noticing don't really clean, but smudge the existing smudges more...LOL.

Hope that helps those of you that were experiencing this.
 
Got Spigen Ultra Clear Oleophobic pack yesterday. I can see what everybody is raving about. Ultra Clear, zero distortion, super strong (3H rating), but PAIN IN THE ARSE to install. At least it was my experience. I'm not a noob installing screen protectors, but this one wasn't easy. Its a very thick film so you have to be carefully when folding and putting it on the phone. The first screen flickered out of my hand right on the floor. Once it picks up dust on the screen side - forget about it. Went on to the second one in the pack. I was doing it in a clean room, screen wiped, hands washed - and it still managed to pick up dust specks from the air. I had to peel off the screen and use a provided sticker to remove a few specks; ended up doing it a few times - now the edge of cut out around Home button is bent and sticking out.

Although they provide you with instructions how to apply it, those are for smaller screen phones. For a big phone like ours, the best way to get it done right is to start applying the screen protector along with long edge of the phone. This way you can do it faster and with a better alignment. The template cut out itself is a lot smaller than a screen area it covers. Its good and bad - gives you some wiggle margin if you don't align perfectly, but at the same time give you more room for an error in miss-aligning it.

Although its on now, I will most likely take it off and send back to Amazon for replacement. $16 is kind of pricey to just throw it away... I do like the product, just wish it would come with a better instructions/suggestions/warnings.
 
I did mine bottom up. I aligned it visually first just to see where I needed to start/stop. Having never applied a protector that fast before in my life I was thoroughly shocked I didn't have to take it off and reapply.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Mine didn't align perfectly, but I did the best I could lining it up with the earphone and sensor prior to application. I was able to cover all the visible screen glass, which is what really mattered. Anyway, maybe you can try the shower trick next time. That might help settle down the little particulates floating around during the install.
