Best in car mount

Just wondering what peoples experiences are with in car mounts on the G2?
 
When I use the G2 for NAV, I like to prop it up in landscape orientation in the instrument cluster area of my Accord. Very natural to glance there. Stays in place because of the TUDIA ultra slim case. No problem with my charger cable reaching that area. Luckily no need for a car mount in my case.

It does block the CD drive but it's fine since we never use it. Very solid, pretty cheap and I like that it's located lower than the windshield so it doesn't block your view.

BTW, that bottom "foot" can be removed for increased space and functionality.

I'm tired of cheap rigs with too many parts that install in ridiculous nooks of the car. I need a set up that mounts securely to my windshield, does not block the camera, has a 360 swivel head, one hand installation, built in power source, and activates the phone car mount mode... Is that too much to ask for these days?! (My last phone was a Droid Razr with the actual motorola built mount. It was the best thing since sliced bread!!)
 
Don't go with cheap ebay stuff. You will save a few bucks, but it will break after a month or so, or better yet the first time you go over the railroad bump or pothole.

I know since a lot of your don't visit the main accessories section in Android Forum where I post my reviews (http://androidforums.com/android-accessories/796475-twister-reviews-android-accessories-gadgets.html), I tested and reviewed most of the popular car mounts, and found Arkon Slim Grip Ultra (http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2/694925-arkon-slim-grip-ultra-mount-car-home.html) and recently reviewed Arkon Mobile Grip 2 (http://androidforums.com/android-ac...iversal-smartphone-car-mount-w-lots-pics.html) to be at the top of my recommended list. And if you really think about it, it cost just a little bit more than ebay stuff, but you get a quality product with 2-year warranty.

Twister6: You tested both of these with the LG G2? Do they launch the car mode? (Don't want a mount that doesn't launch car mode) Can I use the camera? (I like to have my phone ready to use as a dash cam) Do they swivel "360" degrees? (360 is in quotes because it can't swivel the full 360 degrees but might be able to swivel a large % of 360). My best find so far seems to be the LG made dock for the G2. The only downfall is it does not have an integrated power source (which is a huge plus for me!)
 
The problem I have with all the "mounts" is that there is never a great place to mount the "mount" which isn't either in the way of something or just wobbly. Seems like most car manufactures don't want to accommodate any cell phone (as far as where to put it) at all. It would be so easy to have something become universal in cars like the cup holder became. They are likley worried about liability or something.

Have you tried a vent mount?
 
Personally, I think those vent mounts are a joke. Even though one might get "used to it" it is still a ridiculous process, especially when cleaning the dashboard or even if you just want to turn on the heat in the winter. This is not an option for me...

I have a note 2 with a case, live in a rural area down a dirt road that is very rough. It's amazing how steady this thing held my phone. No wobble or vibration, the build quality is excellent. So far the best phone mount I've used. But the real test will come in the summer I live in fl and the summer heat can be brutal on those suction mounts.

Not sure what you mean about the process, it's easy to remove it when you don't need to be using it.
 
The process of installing and removing. Maybe I have just used the wrong ones but it is such a headache to use those little spring loaded "feet" to stick back into the vent. The vent flaps move, you don't have the spring pulled far enough...etc.
