Root Best Kernel for HTC Desire HD

What is the best kenrel for the Htc Desire HD with cm7.1. I mainly want it for longer battery life and Stronger wifi. Please do not give me the 'its your opinion' bs. Thank you.

Yeah, development threads do go over the top in the first post.

Here's the link: Index of /download/icecoldsandwich/UE-ginger-kernels

I would go for 'lordmodUEv8.6-CFS.zip' kernel. Your other option is 'lordmodUEv8.6-BFS.zip'. The difference in practical terms is that the CFS is a better multi-tasker and the BFS will give more resources to which ever app is on screen. So intensive games would benefit from BFS, at the expense of smoothness when jumping between apps.

All of the other options are betas or have features you likely don't need.

There you go. Flash both zips in recovery, but don't wipe anything before hand. Also take a backup before you do anything.

After you've flashed the UV zip, open the UV app, then select your desired undervolt. Start off small (-25mV), reboot, then test for an hour or so. If you don't lock up and need to pull the battery, move on to -50mV and repeat. After -50, the next step is Ultra, then Stable Pinky, then Pinky.

You should be able to enter the recovery menu manually (vol down + power) after pulling the battery. When you installed the UV.zip before, it will have put a reset.zip on your sdcard. If you flash that, it will turn off undervolting. It can be found under /sdcard/reset/reset.zip, if I recall correctly.

If you're in that situation then it is possible to customise your own level of undervolt, but it requires a lot of trial and error to figure out at which CPU speed the phone is freezing due to the voltage being too low.
