Hey guts, What's the best kernel for the HTC Desire and why? If you believe there is no best kernel and it based on needs, which one are you all using and why?

no, there is a best kernel and imo its not subjective
eviollets 1.4 havs axi kernel is the best ive ever used and thats in every sense of usage.

cheers Rastaman - thats the one i have always used, just wondered if theres a better one. what do you like about it? Also is a screen off profile necisary with that kernel in setCPU?

Yes aosp kernels will not work for sense and vice versa.

Also some roms use 720p video drivers and some use AOSP drivers. Kernels that work on one will not work fully on another (camera wont work)

Do you use it on dGB? I always used the eviollets on defrost, but stuck to Manu 1.4 as its rec'd by SU!

There's Vorks. Some of us around here had to use it as it was the only kernel that seemed to solve an intermittent wifi problem we were having.

Pretty good on battery too.

Be aware that ManU isn't compatible with all AOSP ROMs - Oxygen you need to use thalamus' kernels (his latest stable test one seems better than kernel bundled in the v2.3 ROM)
