Help best method for sim unlock?

I bought a (walmart family plan "T-Mobile") zmax yesterday at walmart for $179 so perm tooted it and installed twrp and then installed butternoob.. The only thing is is ive never sim unlocked a phone and I have a cricket wireless sim I'm trying to get to work which is owned by at&t. I am a linux developer so have decent computer, linux, windows, and android knowledge . Any help is appriciated. Thx.

how i am unlocking is as follows.. 1) bought a sim kit at walmart, 2) activated it free of charge, 3) called tmobile support and not my family mobile support and asked for a sim unlock code and the guy i talked to said i will receive the unlock code with instructions in email within 3 business days. :rolleyes:

I know this is an old thread but is not the sim lock built into the rom itself or is it a part of one of the hidden partitions?
Such as bootloader ID, modem ID, board serial no., etc... all those privacy violations they don't tell you about built into your phone.
Btw, I think lane_w was trolling you.
