I was wondering what mid range android device I should get in the Irish market for 270 euro or lower I was thinking galaxy ace or wildfire s wich one out of them or is there a differnt phone I should get. Not optimus 1!:(

I don't know what's in the Irish market. Haven't seen a Wildfire S yet, but my experience with HTC products has a been a thumbs up. The Galaxy Ace I have had a hands on with, and its surprisingly responsive. For midend Android phones, you probably won't lose on both although if I have to pick one, it would be the Wildfire S. (But not the original Wildfire, I would pick the Ace over that).

Any bad experience with the Optimus One? That's a good low to mid end Android.

no bad expeiences really but i want a 5 megapixel camera with a flash and that only has 3.2 otherwise it would of been one of my first choices

It's objective. I'd prefer the Wildfire S as HTC are supposed to be better at after sales support than Samsung. I also prefer HTC's sense interface over Samsungs Touchwiz.

However, the Samsung has a faster processor, a bigger screen and a better resolution so in principle, it looks a better phone.

I'd probably say go into a shop and have a play about with both, see which you think feels better.

Alternatively, look at something like the Orange San Francisco/ZTE Blade. It's mega easy to flash a newer version of Android on to it and once you do, it compares with handsets like the HTC Desire.

my dad has that so no point of me wasting another 100 euro thats why i just want a mid range phone but thanks

You'll be able to watch youtube videos via the app, the OSF mentioned above doesn't have flash support and my GF can watch videos via the youtube app with no problem. She can't access the mobile version of the youtube page though.

As above, my Mrs doesn't really notice the lack of flash so it depends on how you use it I suppose. Lack of flash would be a deal breaker for me though.

Have you thought about a 2nd hand phone? 2nd hand, the HTC Desire would probably be within your price range and it's still widely regarded as one of the best of the current generation smart phones available. It's

You should be cool for games etc installed via the market, but stuff like flash games in the phone's browser obviously won't work.

Is that what you'll be predominantly using it for? Games etc?
