Root Best/most supported rom???

LMAO I'M TEN STEPS BEHIND YOU... I'm scared to even attack the root process for this thing lol ... VERY overwhelming!

mad easy, i came from MT and i found it a little confusing but follow theses steps to root: How to Root Evo 3D! [2.08.651.2 and Later] [HTC Unlock Method] | HTC Evo 4G Hacks!

then these to get S-off: http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear-public-beta-0-1/instructions/, wire trick easy as hell. mainly just automatic CMD scripting. Then purchase 4ext from play store, best damn recovery i know, and its based off clockwork so you know its stable. you can flash Roms/Zips from the OS itself.make sure you download the SU "SuperUser" patch from the root forum here.

Goo Manager and TWRP 2 is free and great to use. Rooting looks hard reading the guide but is rather easy to do. I was skeptical about doing S-Off but once you get it down it's fairly easy to do as well. Just don't be scared and you should be fine.
 
Ok what is all this "s off" stuff and what's the diff between that and the other way of rooting???
 
With S-Off you can flash kernel and radios from recovery, if you just have root you'll have to do this with fastboot instead although I hear that you can also do it with 4Ext recovery. I'm already S-off so I'm not sure.
 
best/most supported is probably mobsters rom, being that he actively replies and takes care of people who use his rom. Harmonia is supported as well, but it is released on a different site(and personally i think leslie ann is happy with not having to support so many people like mobster does, but thats just my personal opinion)

I don't mind doing support (I think my record speaks for itself), I only come here now because this is currently the dominant Evo V forum.

I just try to not get too involved here for personal reasons.

would you mind explaining why(via pm if its personal due to someone here), also may i personally recommend posting your rom here? It took me a few second google search to find it...but the average user...well....pebkac....'

edit: reason why i want you to post it, is i personally have had a few people message ME and ask where to find it. So there is obvious interest.
 
Best way to explain why, is to point at the OV forum. At one time, that was one of the two dominant OV forums, the reason it's like it is because the old regulars drove everyone off. Don't get me wrong, there are some good members there who keep it going, but they are only keeping the lights on.

I was one of the first driven off and I don't want to invest in this forum (again), only to be driven off again. Those old regulars may be gone, but considering how I was treated compared on other forums, I'm hesitant to come back. I may have much more respect now, so I doubt it would go down like that again, but it doesn't change the past.


I know there is interest, and I'm not trying to be difficult, it just creates a lot more work in a place where I don't know how long I will stay.
