Best pedometer type app?

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Whether it uses motion or GPS, I wanna know how far I've walked each day, week, month.
Anyone using a good one?
Cheers 🍻

PS Google Now says I walked one mile last month. I'm. Lazy lol but I walk further than that to the fridge for a beer!

Good enough for me. Thanks buddy I'll test it tomorrow.
Is it constantly "running" in the background and what kinda battery percentage does it cost you?
Thanks again  🏃

@Wizzrah so is this app always monitoring until I log out or do I have to press anything before I start my walk and once I finish?
I assume the walking version works the same as what you're using.
Thanks mate ✌

They both basically do the same thing. What you do is you start the workout (There's a button that says start) and then once you finish your walk, you pause it. An option will come up that says "Slide to finish" and that's it.

Thanks buddy I've just been playing with it and the Web site and got it sussed.
Seems perfect.
I'll try it on my walk tomorrow.
Thanks again mate.
Owe ya one

So yesterday I walked to hospital, paused it when I got there, restarted when I left then did the slider when I got home and I'd only shows 1.6 miles which is the distance of only one half of the walk there and back.
Did I do something wrong?
Cheers

No, you did it right. Did you have both data and gps on?

I did bro, high accuracy.
After looking at Google maps though it seems it was accurate and I'd grossly overestimated the distance to the hospital lol so I'm gonna take the long scenic route on Monday.
Thanks again for your help.
Great app and love the website integration

Alright, good luck!

I tried MapMyWalk, but it appears that it only recorded time. What did I do wrong? Should it provide real time monitoring of distances walked?

I am interested in knowing how far I have walked in what period - is MapMyWalk the best choice or are there other 'simple' pedometers?

Thanx for your input!

I have mapmywalk and used it all the time until I got my scorche rhythm+ monitor and couldn't get it to sync with mapmyfitness. You need to have the GPS active for it to tell you distance then it tracks your walk and will show a map of your walk when you finish it also gives you the distance. Good luck!

Does the free MapMyWalk provide 'real time' distance information? When I tried it, it only showed continuous time since start.

You need to set your activity eg power walk, run, you must have the GPS enabled and when your ready hit start workout. It will track the distance, calories burnt and your time. When your finished hit pause then a box will come up with "slide to finish" when you finish it will show all your stats. I've never had a problem with it and only have the free one.
