Best phone in the world

New to all this 'Android' lark ...lol The Pulse is the 1st one both the beloved & I have had & yes it's the best mobile we've had despite the drawbacks we've found in the 2 months we've had it. The biggest being the battery, about as reliable as using oil to get get snow off your driveway. Yesterday was the worse, charged while asleep, 100%, four hrs later 64%, another 4 hrs & 21% and that's very limited use. On other days though it's pretty good. If we can cure this problem, this mobile is gonna stay with us a long, long, time.

Keggies, Hi

Ensuring 3G, wireless and Bluetooth are off when not needed will improve your battery life, if they are already off, well, you have the same issue as all of us...:)

Leave it on 2G, always. It'll last a day and a half at least. The app I use to manage that is called '2G-3G OnOff'.

I also downloaded an app that puts a notification icon up the top when I've got wifi on but am not connected. That one is called 'Wifi Status', and to toggle wifi on-off from the homescreen I use 'Wifi Toggle Widget'.

Using those three apps helped me manage my battery a lot better, hope they help you as well.

And you can get a brightness control toggle too. Indoors it only needs to be on absolute minimum

Thanks, but I have it 2G, wireless etc off but the damn thing is just so erratic. Charged full last night went to bed 100%, had on silent with alarm on, this morning it was down to 54% now at 1pm it's 18% so back on charge again - this time I've turned it off completely. Sometimes it will last 2 days before charge.

On the home screen I am running a battery widget (which also can use for wifi, GPs etc), sound on/off widget and a retro clock & calendar widget - will these make a difference? Also running a task killer app which sometimes shows items such as RoadSync running (even though I haven't started it) which I kill as soon as I notice. Nerves are being shredded as I speak as I love this phone. We'll see what this charge brings, being charged with the phone actually off & on the mains & not by USB.

keggs

That rings a bell, for some reason the electricity coming out of the mains is better than the usb, :)

I always charge mine from the mains

It may be worth monitoring how you use the phone. Standby time will always be aeons greater than actual usage time. If, for example, I spend 2 hours talking to folks on the phone, It'll quite easily run me down to around 30-40%. If I only send a couple of texts a day, then my battery can last days.

Also, it may be the snake oil affect, but I believe my battery is lasting longer after ditching my task killer app and applying T-mobile's minor update.

another battery killer is using the Pulse running sat nav. Even with the car charger plugged into it Copilot uses more power than the in-car charger can provide :-) you have to laugh :-)

Actually it's kinda behaving itself recently. I haven't been using it that much, text during the day, 1-2 phone calls, bit of web and it's lasting 2 days well, going down to max 55% so happy at the moment .......
