Root best rom for this?

That is a loaded question - its essentially opinion based. More so what really suits your needs. Think of it like a Linux distro, what flavor suits you?

I personally prefer CM7 because of the ease for screenshots when working on my apps. Not to mention overall dependability.

yea this is completely up to you, and you have a nice number to choose from lol

tg CM7 B0.8 - no longer being developed and was left with a few small problems "whyzor took over"

whyzor's CM7 tg-reloaded 3-25 - no longer being developed, whyzor fixed most of the bugs left in tg B0.8, changed kernels, and added alot of tweaks "g60madman took over with g60style"

CM7 g60Style - g60madman took over after whyzor and has been adding fixes and tweaks since, also outta these 3 this is the only one still being updated and worked on

and Miui which ive never used but heard only goo things about

*** all the above roms are gingerbread based

then you got

AOKP and codename android - currently in alpha stages(usually means many bugs)

CM9 - still in alpha but i dont think it will be for long, there working on fixing the camera now, my bet is itll jump to beta sometime after camera and a few small teaks get added

and miui 4 ics(alpha) - again never used miui but have only heard good things

all these roms are ICS based

then you have all b_randons roms which stock froyo based with many tweaks and kernel updates

i personally prefer the CM7 tg-Reloaded 3-25 edition myself

For anyone who wants to know, I'm working on 2 more ICS ROMs and an AOKP update to M5. Codename Android hasn't gotten an update since so it can't get an update.

I thought MIUI was too much like an iPhone interface, and I switched to android to get away from Apple (more or less, I"m not a fan of 'pay to develop' and 'Macs only' providers, plus my ipod got stolen lol), but if you like the iOS interface than MIUI is for you.

Only thing is, MIUI seems (to me) a bit unstable occasionally (I get random battery loss on it every now and then).

I'm using CM7 g60style right now, I love it and it's only getting better. It's pretty damn stable and I love the cyan-on-black design.
