Best ROM hands down for Evo V? Speed, Performance, Battery life(Not really expecting much lol), and pretty much everything else expected in a good ROM. Thanks Ahead of time!
BTW, I'm s-on with hboot 1.58 unlocked
 
Harmonia is good & stable
I would say Butterz sense ROM is by far the best overall though.
It is an updated stock ROM with a few tweaks and comes loaded with mirage kernel.

But try them all and make your own decision
 
There can never be a singular answer to such a broad question, for stock I prefer Unlocked Potential with Anthrax and for JB I'm normally on PACMan. YMMV. Get s-offed and try them all! :D

This thread would get locked on XDA because there is always no clear answer.

My favorite roms of all time were Mobsters roms and Unsensable by nsciucco.

Harmonia is great for stock - ness and is a great stock stable rom.

But I'll go for mobster remix :D. And I don't even have this phone, so you know it's good. :thumbup:
 
There are so many posts on here already about "the best rom" or the "the best battery life". Please folks, use the search engine.

If you say that on here people will get mad lol. A mod removed my post and got mad when I politely asked someone to search. :rolleyes:

Exactly. :)

The "best" ROM changes all the time as new ones come and old ones go. Its never bad to ask for peoples opinions on where to start your new found flashaholic tendencies :D

Now that we're past all that, lets get back to the topic at hand :)
 
I love the stability of Mobster Remix, but I really wanted the Jelly Bean perks, so I've been using Angry Bean and Dirty Unicorns. I get random reboots on both, but I've been able to deal with it. The data (especially 4G) isn't as good as the ICS roms.
 
While I have nothing to add to the back and forth about the search function that occurred, I do have something to add regarding the posting of the forum rules and the title of the thread BEST ROM. Of course I agree that comments on this site should be respectful and not mean spirited (hopefully mine was taken as humor and was not intended as being mean)

I don't believe that Mods should rush to defend a thread intended to promote conversations about whose ROM is better than whose. I'm not one of those people that thinks "everyone deserves a trophy for trying" or whatever but if I was a developer that has posted my ROM on this site I don't think I would be very encouraged to continue supporting my work on this site if other's post threads about my work not being as good as someone else's.

I'm not a developer so maybe they don't have a problem but I believe we should have a little more respect for the developers who share their work with us for little to no personal benefit and avoid these kinds of threads in the future, regardless of having the Mods support.
 
I understand completely what your saying chicoman. I'm not and expert on these, so if I start a thread on the best rom, in other peoples opinions, then what's the hurt to you ? You don't have to come on here and reply with something that has nothing to do with the thread.

No worries, maybe a little too preacher-ish just noting a slight double standard when it came to those that say to have respect in a topic that although wasn't intended to be can be taken as disrespectful. Didnt mean to chase anyone away.
 
My 2 cents:

I really liked Harmonia, aside from the boot animation and down animation -> those just aren't pretty... But the fact that everything works as it should is really nice.

That being said, I use my phone in the car for streaming music over bluetooth. I HAVE to have good sound quality coming out of my device. For that reason, I use Angry Bean. For the most part, everything works as it should (minus 3D, but who really uses it anyway...not sure if 4g works or not because I don't live in a 4g area)... But what I really love about it:
DSP Manager (easily the best equalizer available IMHO)
Jellybean is PRETTY - Lockscreen widgets, quick settings tiles, etc etc
Everything that I need works.

Downsides:
Data is slow. MMS takes a while to send sometimes.
Random reboot cycles. Meh. Not really a big issue, albeit annoying.

But really it all depends on the person. There are tons of options for our phone and a lot of them are VERY good... Try Angry Bean, Harmonia, Mobster HD, Dirty Unicorns, Midnight ROM series, etc etc. You won't know what you like until you play around with them.
 
I like my mobs rom, butterz rom for ICS
The Disarmed toaster even though older, Muiu , i like alot, I've also noticed that with rom toolbox pro you can turn gif file into your boot screen animation I haven't quite been able to get it completely right but I've been able to take a gif camera from the Play Store makes boot animations of my nieces and family members & or my cat so that's pretty awesome
