Root Best rood method for X with 2.2 OTA

Ok, i have been reading a lot of posts on how to successfully root my X.

It is 2 weeks old today and I am ready to do it.

I was dumb when I first got it, and downloaded the 2.2 OTA from Verizon.

I want to make sure I get a good backup so i do not brick it. I used to use clockwork on my old Droid 1.

Out of experience, what is the best way to root this droid X? I am not a noob, and have read forums but there are sooo many mixed reviews on the best way to accomplish this. I want to make sure I do have a recovery method in case of anything catastrophic and I was used to using clockwork on my droid 1.

"Best" is going to be each person opinion
Really, anything that WORKS will work "best" lol
In my opinion/experience the Droid2 method has worked for me
I did it on my friends Droid2, my droid X on the leaked 2.2, and again on my Droid X with the OTA 2.2
It worked perfectly and easily for me every time.

Which method for D2 are you referring to? I can find about 500 methods on the D2.

There's a thread here in the root section called something like "Droid 2 semi one click method" it worked well for me.

Used the Droid 2 method on xda that used the downloaded file on your sd card and adb.
