Best Snes games for Snesoid Touchscreen?

kenn

Android Enthusiast
I've still got a bunch of SNES carts like Contra 3, Mario RPG, Smash TV, and others. I know I can get the ROMs online, but my question is more which SNES games, in your opinion, are best on a touchscreen like the incredible?

I tried Contra 3, but it really is unplayable...

I've been playing Final Fantasy 2 for a bit now and it works great, if rpgs are your thing. I've found that fast action games, like Mario brothers, gets a little frustrating on the touch controls. Absolutely love the snesapp BTW. It's been bringing back a lot of memories of wasting hours with a good friend from childhood. General Chaos was a high point.

Edit: General Chaos is on genesisoid. Still awesome.

Mario is very difficult to play especially since you can hold down the run button very well while jumping. RPG's are the easiest but I've found Legend of Zelda, Link To The Past to be quite enjoyable. There is a bit of a learning curve but after that is good.

I think there is a bug on my legend of zelda ROM. When Link first walks out of the house at the beginning, everything is black. I forget if this is how the game actually starts. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Has anyone tried bluetoothing a Wii controller for these games yet?
No worky with SenseUI/HTC. However, I was wondering if anyone has gotten around this with something like LauncherPro, or is it something fundamentally deeper in the firmware/hardware that's preventing it from working.

You might want to make sure transparency is turned on in the settings. That can be an issue for some games, I know.

GamePro drivers (on the market) in conjunction with the MSI BGP100 or the ZeeMote (both bluetooth controllers) DO WORK on the Incredible. I beta tested them, and use the MSI BGP100.

Also, if you root your phone and install a ROM that has different bluetooth drivers (like CM6), you can use the wiimote drivers in the market.

I haven't had a problem with it. Maybe it was the ROM that was bring used.

Here's to hoping the 2.2 update coming will update the bluetooth profile so we can use Wiimotes as controllers.

How about the ps3 controller? I've seen that used on other droid phones. Does THAT work with the current Dinc bluetooth spec?

And... currently playing chrono trigger (again)

I've been having a blast using my wiimote as a controller for snesoid, unfortunately sense won't allow that, but if you switch to a different rom you'll all have solved your problem. It's not as nice as a real snes controller but it's pretty fun!

I had the same problem. Go into settings and click on transparency. It says it may cause the game to slow down but at least you'll be able to see it.

Anyone have any information on using a ps3 controller with android to play emulators? I read that using ps3 controllers was not possible yet with any android device.
