I rooted my phone mostly for Wi-Fi tether, I'm currently running one of the leaked OTA Froyo roms and it's a little buggy but good for now. I am waiting for a good vanilla gingerbread ROM to replace it. However, my cousin who also has an Incredible was asking about my Wi-Fi tether app and how she could do that with her phone so I told her about rooting and warned her about all the risks and everything and she still wanted me to do it for her so she could use Wi-Fi tether. She has the official Froyo ROM but she has had a lot of problems with the official OTA version of Froyo, it's really buggy for some reason and the battery drains unusually fast. The system time was always 50/50 either exactly correct or completely way off not even just time zone like by x hours but the minutes were off and everything, even for text messages it would say it was received sometime in the future, random things like that, and facebook and weather sync issues, lots of force closing. I rooted it, but didn't flash a custom ROM since she really liked stock sense. The November OTA update keeps popping up on her phone and after accepting it, it counts down and stops at zero and doesn't restart, it won't update for some reason so I just told her to ignore the update. On to the point though, I was telling her the phone is actually a really good phone and that most of her problems are because the buggy version of the software she has, and I was recommending flashing a new ROM, so here I am trying to find a good ROM for her situation, until the official HTC gingerbread ROM is out. She really likes sense, doesn't use any launchers or anything and she likes everything how it is stock with sense, but she wants a ROM that is stable and saves battery. Any suggestions?
