Best thing about SGS2 owners....

I suspect the OP was a joke but I would be interested to see some examples.

I recently came from an iPhone where one gets the layout that Steve Jobs (PBUH) likes and I have almost no idea of what possibilities there are on Android.

So, if someone wanted to start such a thread (now look what you've done ;)) at least one person would look at it.

Firstly GOOD ON YOU!!! BREAK AWAY FROM APPLE! :D

And may I urge you to look at these. These will rapidly enlighten you to the mere beginning of the possibilities of Android!

May I remind you that, this is on the Desire, so it's 1 and a bit years old.

1Ghz processor 512 RAM, 576 ROM and it can do all of this.

Just imagine what Dual core 1.2Ghz, 1GB RAM and 1.8GB ROM will allow you to do :D

Annoying having to search for such a positive thread!

Onto other things!!

I AM SO AWESTRUCK (if that's even a word) at the GSII...it's just so awesome!

My facebook account doesn't want to be "accepted" by the hub/in setting so I can't link my contacts yet, but went into maps for the first time., located me within 2 seconds! Must be a lucky one :)

Hell, I don't mind. We can even start uploading pictures of our homescreens ;-)

Seriously - I've not found anything to complain about yet with my SGS2 and after over a week, that's something of a record for me! Most phones annoy me in some way or another, but this one isn't.

Yet.

Although the experience has been very varied for different people, I think Samsung released a really solid phone.

I actually love the light feeling, for me it just feels so nice coming from a Desire.

i agree its a solid phone ( not 100% sure about it physically, dont want to even think about dropping it) :P

just needs a update from google and its a sure winner and competitor for the IP5. :D

Yeah. By solid I meant like "metaphorically" :p

And have to admit I was a bit worried that iOS 5 was gonna be mega, and all revolutionary...then I was sitting there reading the live feed and all I got was

OTA updates...notifications...and the cloud...BBM, oh sorry, iMessage.

In all fairness the cloud is a good idea, but it's certainly nothing revolutionary and well I've only got an iTouch 2G which probably won't get the update and an iPad. So for me, not really much use.

(and from what I someone said, a few of the features have been copied from jailbroken apps/tweaks)

Even if the iP5 had a 4" retina display...still wouldn't be better. Super AMOLED Plus is simply the way forward. I'm still using my GSII on the lowest possible brightness and the colours still look so real/like they should.
 
Back to my Desire....

My uncle was on the verge of getting an iPhone 4. And well I would simply not stand for that, so (as hard as it was) I gave my GSII to him for a day or so to play around with it and prove to him how far superior it was! I know he won't be disappointed!

I miss TouchWiz. I've got chunky Sense! :/
 
Glad you finally have your nice new SGS2, hope it was worth the wait, but i think we can all guess the answer to that one lol ;)

lol, i also saved a family member from falling into the hands of the evil greedy Apple corporation.

I purchased my SG2 solely so i could give my Desire to my niece for her 15th birthday.

It's been a whole month and the phone never leaves her hand and best of all, all the apps she uses are free (mission accomplished me thinks!) :p

Indeed.

I would love to see the end of greedy and uncaring big corporations that don't put their customers needs before their profits like Apple and Facebook.

Maybe one day when i'm wealthy enough i can hurt them financially on a much bigger, more noticeable scale :D

The world ain't all bad though, Google and AMD are the only big name entities i have ever had respect for.

I'll will only ever tip my hat to companies that strive to advance the human race and ultimately do more good for this world then they do bad.
