Help best thing for internet

Right my internet has gone really slow and a lot of the time doesn't load a page without it having to be refreshed. I'm using the normal internet you get on the phone, no other browsers,or anything. 9/10 times my signal isn't an issue. I've deleted all cookies, passwords, cache etc and not really any difference has been made. any ideas? New app of some sort?
 
You say signal isn't a problem but what kind of signal are you getting, GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA? (slowest to fastest in that order -- GPRS is infuritatingly slow whereas HSDPA is comparable to the lower end home broadband solutions)
 
Sometimes (and I have had this issue myself) you can be connected to HSDPA, but the SIM card goes faulty and you get massively reduced download speeds (for me I was getting 2% of what was possible).

Try downloading "SpeedTest" from the market and check your download rate. Let us know what you get.

I was getting 56Kbps before, now I get 3500+

I wonder if that's what the problem is with my phone with 3G connections. GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA all work fine, but when I have a 3G connection nothing seems to load but it doesn't time out either.
 
Could be. I just went into an O2 shop, they gave me a new sim and registered it then and there. A few hours later it was all up and running.
 
I get mostly whatever the h symbol is, then 3g.

Just done the speed test, upload is 367kbps and download is 1122kbps

That's HSDPA and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your speed test.

You could try "Dolphin Browser HD" from the Market. That's what I use and it is a little faster then the built in browser.
 
Yeah thats not very good. What network? Try all over the place. If you dont get any better, start looking at it being a shite network or dodgy sim

I just did it again, and my upload speed was faster than my download speed by more than 100kbps!

I'm on t-mobile.
 
I've been having low speeds since day 1 of my contract while a friend gets good speeds of up to 1.8mb.
I seem to be capped at around 367kbps max but when executing the Speedtest app the needle will jump to 1.6mb+ but I still get the low 300+ reading.
I rang tmobile and they said they had altered settings last night but I still get the same results (even though web browsing was a little faster last night)!
My main issue compared to my friend's speeds is that I can't constantly stream a Youtube video without lots of buffering where he can!
 
settings>wireless and networks>mobiel network> APN (or something like that, cant remember on your rom).


Compare your APN (access point names) settings with your friends to confirm they are the same (go into each of the APN's).


Might be a red herring but on o2, there were reports that some apn's are faster than others. Could be complete crap too, but never know.
 
Quick update on this.

I spoke to T-Mobile Technical Team, and they confirmed that there was a problem on my package (something to do with the order in which my package was built).

It's fixed, and now I'm getting just under 2Meg download speed! More than pleased with that.
