So... what's the best Twitter app to use; and can I sign up for Twitter using the app or do I have to do it from a cpu?

get the twitter for android app and create an account. the DL the Twicca app and input your newly created info.

Twicca is the best i have found so far. very customizable options

I use a combination of the twitter widget in Launcher Pro Plus and the official twitter app. Works great for me.

Twicca does. i dont use widgets so i cant comment on it. but i think twitter for android has one as well. i am sure most of the bigger name ones will have a widget

Twicca is GREAT. I'd also recommend Tweetdeck (also free), which merges Twitter, Facebook, and as couple of others into one timeline.

Twidroid has an interesting "Preview" screen that will allow you to see pictures and sites that are listed in the tweet - all without leaving the app. Interesting idea and the first app that I have seen that does this.

Personally I didn't like it that much, but it is certainly worth checking out to see if you like it.

Twidroyd ftw. I've tried just about all of them and while some are nicer to look at you can't beat the functionality of twidroyd
