I'm trying that eBay dude too... I messaged him and am now waiting for a response. I tried HTCSimUnlock but they couldn't find the code and wanted more money to search more - seems like a scam to me. I am awaiting refund from them but won't hold my breath and will probably have to file a dispute with PayPal.
I don't have an HTC wildfire, but I have a Samsung T959v Galaxy 4g which I tried numerous sites that claimed to be able to unlock it....one site phoneunlockers something something even bricked it and I repeatedly got a phone freeze message.
Finally I came across Cellunlocker.net they got me a freezing code the next day and was able to unlock it. So this is my recommendation as they came through even those it was a little pricey for the "freeze" code
