Best value External Cell Phone Power Supply ?

GoodEnough

Well-Known Member
Want one of these for when the cell dies while away on vacation, not near an outlet. External battery pack that recharges. Some are junk, but I don't want to pay $50, either. Got a link?

Amazon.com: Anker

It's really nice. It charges the phone pretty fast and I should get a few good charges out of it. It's just about the same size as my phone (2nd gen Moto X), not bulky or heavy at all really. Good purchase!

I use a RAVPower RP-PB04 10000mAh 3A Lithium Polymer External Battery Power Bank for iPad, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Note, HTC One (M8), Google Nexus, Moto X and other Mobile Devices. I checked on Newegg and on Amazon and they both report either Sold Out or Out of Stock. The last price at Newegg was $13.00 USD. Been using it for years now and it keeps on ticking. I paid $25.00 USD back in the day. Check around for a RAVPower system. You won't regret it.

After sleeping on it, I started wondering if I should really be looking for the cheapest. These are after all lithium ion battery devices. Poor quality batteries have been known to develop internal shorts and thermal runaway resulting in fires. Am I going to be wondering about the safety of the power pack every time I use it for as long as I own it?

My mind was put at ease a litte bit by their website

which states "All of our items reach the strict standards of quality assurance by CE, UL, and ISO9001/9002 certifications.".

Here's a video that I think is the same product.

Was using my mums (can't even remember the name so I'm useless) 1200mah one with a 1A and 2A output tonight and it's on amazon UK reduced from like £40 to £13 which i think is a bargain. Good solid device. I'll txt her tomorrow if anyone's interested :thumbsupdroid:
