Best Voice Recorder App for Droid?

That is a good option to have.

With further testing, I still get clicks an noises as with other applications in my recordings. This seems to be a problem of the Galaxy S and I note that the last update of tapeMachine mentions an attempt to fix it (unfortunately still a problem here). Poo. I hope the developer can sort that one out.
 
I released a new android audio record called memovoice, you can find it looking for com.memento or memovoice.

You can record arbitrary lenght audio, share it via mail or bluetooth and you can also set memovoice notification to recall the note at specific time.
It provided with widget to start quickly a new record.

graphics is very accurate.

I've recently switched to UltimateVoiceRecorder for my class lectures. Seems pretty good in the two weeks that I've been using it. Records in .3gp or .mp4 format and it doesn't have a time limit on recordings. It doesn't have a email function though but I connect my phone to the comp a lot anyways so its not a big deal for me.
 
there is a new recorder application available with name "clearrecord"..
It does remove unnecessary noise in your recordings.. u can even play at different speeds (for better convenience) .. playlist.. rename and so many other options.. It is avalible as both free and paid.. some of the options are being removed in free version..
 
Whenever we develop any Android app we uses the Android provided SDK. In the case of audio playback and recording, it seems the provided option for recording is MPEG_4, THREE_GPP, RAW_AMR. So most Android apps that has audio recording files will be in those format.

If you found an Android app audio recording that offer formats e.g the popular mp3 or even wav, most likely the app developer uses external Java library to do the conversion. External as in stuff not from the Android SDK itself.

I hope this clear up end users expectation on why so few Android app audio recording format support say mp3, wav etc etc. Those that do support most likely uses additional libraries from outside the Android SDK to achieve that.

And lastly, an audio recording Android app shouldn't need the Full Internet Access permissions at all.
 
I just downloaded Tape Machine on my Xoom. It's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.

Unfortunately, my aim is to compile a few tracks that I can overlap on top of each other in Movie Sutdio. When I try to use the song in that, it says it can't add the track. :(

If I could get some confirmation that one of the other file formats (MP3, for example) works for this, then I'd buy the professional version. Has anyone tried using Movie Studio in this way?

I have never used Movie Studio but I have tested MP3 in TapeMachine and it does work. At least, the conversion to MP3 works. Unfortunately, the Eris apparently lacks the horsepower needed to record directly to MP3, since the option is disabled for my phone. :(
 
I LOVE TapeMachine and use it all the time. However, I do have a couple issues with it (but they may be Android issues, for all I know)...

Phone calls interrupt recordings. :mad:

If you record a phone call on speaker phone, it records fine but the person on the other end can't hear you (unless you pause the recording)! :eek:
 
You're all going to laugh... I have tried the rest, but the best option to record straight to MP3 (so the rest of the WORLD can use the file) is Ringdroid.

Yes, it's intended to create custom ringtones, but it also allows you to record your own. It's not the fastest option and does not have a dedicated widget, but if you want to work with MP3s, it can't be beat. It also has an impressive wave form editor. One word of caution: do not switch apps, hit the power button or otherwise turn off your screen or you will stop the recording (it's not very stealthy either!).

Other Options:

I've always liked Voice Recorder for it's one-click widget and it adjusts your media volume, leading you to believe it must be optimizing somehow, but it is buggy and has crashed on several occasions. It also uses the 3GP format, so I got rid of it awhile ago.

iRecord looks nice and works well, though very basic. It does allow you to switch apps or turn off your screen. It also places an icon in the notification bar to indicate recording. It shows an ad at the top and also uses the dreaded 3GP format.
 
i know these are old posts but i have been using voice recorder and converting them with sony soundforge.. im sure any other music recorder like adobe audition would work too...

I stumbled across this post and wanted to mention that there is a new app available on the Android Market called Dictadroid.

I developed Dictadroid with the goal of making a simple but powerful voice recorder for dictation. I believe it addresses most of the issues mentioned in this post.

This maybe a bit different than what most people do with voice recorders. I want the option to start recording, then be able to append to that recording if I need to. Basically start recording, then open it up and add to it if I need to without having to start a new recording. An example: I maybe recording a to do list, and need to stop, I would like to just add to the list without having a bunch of recordings that pertain to the same list.

TapeMachine allows you to append to recordings with certain file formats, such as .wav.

You should experiment with the free version and different formats to see if it's what you have in mind.
 
I'm looking for a recorder that works like a dictaphone and allows me to email the file to my office. currently using Live Pro, which works great, but does not allow you to go back and edit a file without erasing. It also allows WAV files. Anyone have a suggestion of a better app for dictaphone use?

Confirming Other . . . TapeMachine is best audio recorder. Records WAV which can be played anywhere. .WAV is not compressed so 3 hours is about 1Gbyte. Records MP3 if you download the codec for free from withing the TapeMachine App.

Features:

Record Gain manual or auto.
Easy to go navigate a recording in playback.

anyone know if u can record audio into your android using the headphone out as a in.i know someone who uses a i phone app then one of these petersontuners.com/index.cfm?category=135&action=itemView&itemID=39 .wondered if i can in effect use my android as a portable audio recorder, with say a 16gb micro sd card . .using tape machine app.im a dj and want to record my live sets . .
