Will get my GNII this week with Verizon. At Thanksgiving, my Dad showed up with one (He's on Sprint I think?)

Anyway, I'd like tips, but the question is really more for him. He said the instruction booklet is monstrous, I was wondering if any of you knew of a website or series of youtube videos or something else that is a really good basic tutorial for someone who tries to be at the cutting edge of tech, but.... isn't good a it.

Samsung have a YouTube channel which shows how to use handsets. Or the note 2 has built in instructions on it which are fairly basic. The written booklet is awful.

I used to feel this way regarding user manuals and such but the best advice I can offer you and your dad is to read the manual. This one for the Note 2 has been extremely informative. It's long, yes. I keep a copy on my mSD card.
There's also in the Play store a smaller Users Digest that I find indispensable. It includes hand on videos.

Oh my! you're gonna break my all time record of not reading a manual for decades... :D

But I guess that beats having to purchase a books for dummies book.... I'll give it a go (one of this days). :)

LOL!!! It's funny you say this. I haven't picked up a manual in ages. Mainly due to the fact that the manuals of late have been all of 3 pages long with the first 2 being legalese.

DrEx and TwoSpirits turned me onto the Note 2 manual and believe me, if it was a waste a time I wouldn't be passing the knowledge on.

Everybody RTFM!!! :D

Go to the play store, get that one too. Watch videos on YouTube. There's knowledge all over the place for this phone.
