Best way to sync calender on Hero

The Hero har several different "calenders" onboard. Mine has:

"My Calender" - This is the phone's calender
"XX.XX@gmail.com" - Gmail calender off course
"Norwegian Holidays" - Nice to have calender
"Week Numbers" - Nice to have calender
"Outlook" - For syncing ti Outlook

Now, my problem(s) is(are) as follows:

1. Using HTC Sync only syncs the "Outlook" calender on the phone. (And contacts)
2. Syncing with Gmail, only syncs "XX.XX@gmail.com" (and Gmail contacs)
3. Leaving the "My Calender" which I prefer to use, goes un-backed-up.

It's driving me mad! I want ONE place for all my calender issues and contact sync.

A) How do I sync "My Calender" to Google or Outlook?
B) How do I change all my "My Calender" items to Gmail?
C) How do you have "unified synchronization and backup" of your Hero?

Edit: I wish HTC could provice some kind of advanced calender software for your computer which you could control every aspect of the Hero's calender

I can't help you with your exchange calendar, as I don't use exchange.
I don't use "my calendar" either, and that works just fine for me.
I only use the google calendars, mostly the same as you.

This works exelent for me, as I have all my calendars i gcalendar/ thunderbird, and there have a nice interface if I have much to fix.

Don't know if this helps you much, but bottom line is anyway that you can just stop using "my calendar"

Well, I'll admit that I've never used the HTC Sync with my Sprint HTC Hero, but I sync Outlook Calendar with the Hero via Google Calendar.

I have Outlook 2007. I downloaded Google Calendar Sync and it automatically syncs bothways between Outlook 2007 and Google Calendar. And since the Hero automatically syncs the Google Calendar with the Hero, it all just works. So, I just use the Google Calendar on the Hero, and have the My Calendar disabled. No matter where I edit or create a Calendar event (Outlook, Google Calendar, or the Hero), it just syncs all the way around.
