Help Better app for Calendar?

One thing HTC really got right on the Desire was the calendar. Synch'd beautifully with Google, keeping the colours, nice to look at, navigate, enter new events.

The default app on the Note however, is horrible! The widget doesn't seem to update properly. It's clumsy, ugly and awkward to use. There's no week view and colours are rendered poorly - it's hard to understand why Samsung have produced something so much worse that their competition.

Anyone have personal recommendations about what they use to view their Google calendar?

I use Pure Calendar widget. Its a paid app but has so much customization available its well worth it, in my opinion.

Hi Biscuit lad,
I came from the desire and I too am getting used to the S Planner.
There is a large choice of views but not through the widget. I have stuck the S-Planner icon into the launch bar at the bottom. In the actual application, in the top right corner is a chevron (Arrow ) pointing to the right, if you press that, a menu appears with Day, 3Days,Week, Month, Year, Agenda & Tasks.
As far as Syncing with Google is concerned, it appears to be a bit hit and miss.
I have about ten different calenders within google covering things such as social life, birthdays, Work, Staff holidays, Appointments, Gym, other halfs shifts, and various other planners now curiously, Some of it syncs and some of it doesn't. Some syncs with the colour coding, other entries don't. I'm sure it'll all come out in the wash eventually but it's a bit messy at the moment.
I committed to Google Calender 2 years ago and both my social group and work collegues use it extensively, I can't just swap calenders so I'll be watching this space closely.... Let me know if you discover anything cool

If all you care about is seeing tasks try any.do it syncs with Google calender and has a ICS look to it that's real easy on the eyes.

Thanks for the help guys - but wouldn't you know it, as soon as I posted I went and discovered Jorte Calendar. All I can say is wow, how do these guys make their money? Fab app, especially if you choose to only sync with google. Can't get over the transparent month view - how cool is that? And the colours are great!
