Help bf3 pc tether doesn't work

maxroach

Newbie
On pc. Pdanet doesn't work when hide tether usage is set to "none". When I click "join server" origin tells me: "you can't launch the game from this software or device" stating I don't fulfill all requirements (OS in my case).

Any ideas would be helpful, haven't found other tether apps that work yet and can't think of a workaround.

edit: I've just tried two other tether programs and they didn't work, although with klink I didn't bother selecting "mimic phone - some flash apps may not work" because I assumed the same thing would happen. Does everyone here have to click "hide tether usage" in order to access the net?
Thanks!

Use Foxfi , if possible
Wifi Tether (For Root Users)
Or if you really can just pay $10 for tether , or use PDAnet and download on PC and phone , Follow the steps it gives you

Rooting the phone was not too bad for me and i installed wifi tether. I haven't used it yet on thus phone but i know it works great on my old phones.

I would pay a lot of money for an unlimited tether plan but it's not offered.
Pdanet doesn't work bc it only works when i click 'hide usage'. Will try foxfi.

I have been using the built in tether 24/7 for a week now without any problems. Using usb tether because it keeps the phone charged, but wifi tether works just fine also. The only hassle is setting your user agent on the client machine which is easily fixed.

Thanks for the info, but since BF3 works as a web-app, that's where it gets its OS information from, so I think I just can't play this game unless I pay for the tethering and $1000 for the bandwidth. (Just downloading the 2,800 meg update, windows updates, and watching a bit of youtube got me over their highest tether plan in two days).

Just want to update....

If I load up a server page and click hide -> "none", refresh the page, sometimes I can get in. It always asks for me to install battlelog, so basically the intermittent/slow connection is somewhat breaking the site in order to get it to work. Not an elegant solution...if you can call it a solution.

THEN it kicks me 'for 0 seconds' due to no packets on punkbuster.
