BGR's Droid Review...

Not much of a Review to be honest.

Pretty much rehashing of everything we already know.

The video in the dock was cool, not something I'll likely get.
Anything that runs the screen 24x7 can't be good.

Can you say burn out?

This wasn't a review. It was a preview to let people know what to expect. It's not the finished product.

Even for a preview I was disappointed, I was hoping for a more in depth preview of what this device offers. Guess I will have to wait and see when I get them in my stores :D

I was a little disappointed, too. I was expecting a little more depth. I thought the short video was pretty cool. That phone is definitely really snappy!

The phone it self looks amazing, when I'm looking at it, I'm thinking "WOW what is going on in my pants"
but when I see it slide out...its like nothing happened. if that phone was pure touch...that would be awesome :D
(Except menu, call, end, home, back, and search buttons)

You can look at BGR's comment two ways...one it is just boygenius, being boygenius and in his eyes nothing is better than the holy jesus phone. Or the other way, and how I see it. Is that the iphone has a established reputation, a solid platform as far as the phone goes, and a huge customer base. So there is enough room for both phones in the market. And at this point droid alone will not be enough to dip into apples market share. It will more likely draw people away from blackberry, palm, and windows mobile.

With that being said... Hardware for hardware the Droid either beats or matches everything the iphone has. It is going to come down to the OS and the users experience using this phone. I for one think that droid will excel at this. And paired with verizons network only makes it better.

Agreed. Just think he should have put it another way. Saleswise it will prob. not be able to compete, but the phone is great enough to compete against the iPhone in beeing the better phone.

Oh I couldn't agree with you more! And this is coming from a die hard blackberry user... I think that Droid, is going to be the best phone on the market hands down. Out of the box it will do more..and with open source development for apps the possibility is endless for this device.
