Big issue in Jelly Beans with People and Messaging apps

Lurker
After the last update I'm having a really annoying issue with both People and Messaging apps.

My contacts are all synced with Google. When I open the People app and start typing someone name, some names that match what I have typed show up and some don't. This is so fukcing annoying. For some contacts if I type the name case-sensitive (example, if I type "Al" Albert will show up...but if I type "al" it will not) it will show up...while some others never show up.

While in messaging app whatever I type nothing shows up...I have to first go the people app...scroll down to the contact and call or message him. It's driving me crazy!!!

Sounds like something specific to your phone or how your contacts are arranged as two phones here on Jelly Bean search exactly as expected case insensitive in both people and messaging.

Thanx!
Any idea how to fix it?
Have you tried a factory reset?
It will delete your settings, downloaded apps, text messages, etc., but it clears the phones memory and sets up a "virgin" configuration of Jelly Bean.
