Big screen on evo love it or hate it

i'm mixed honestly, but i do love it now. i've always been a fan of smaller phones, based on my lifestyle. i originally wanted the evo for the 1ghz processor and the android system. i wasn't sure about the big screen, sure its awesome sitting on the couch, but when i am at work its kinda big in my pocket. not to mention hanging out at the park on the weekends wearing shorts.

i've gotten used to it tho and i do love it. i am an auto technician so i move around a lot, lean over fenders and door sills and what not, so i worry about breaking it. also our work pants have slanted pockets and phones tend to fall out and get stuck in between seats, especially when you hop in a car where some guy thinks he is too cool to sit up straight. and no i don't want to wear a belt clip, haha i'm too cool for that. no seriously i think i would lean on it more with a belt clip. i am also a shop foreman at work and do need to take some calls, so just leaving it on my toolbox or bench isn't really ideal.

i've been going back and forth with carrying it or not. i have insurance so i think i will stick to carrying it. i just wish it was lighter rather then smaller.

I work at a buddys shop from time to time helping him build and rebuild engines. I set my EVO on a table and use my Jawbone (bluetooth headset). I get about a 40-50 foot range with it. Just a suggestion.


Screen is bad ass. I love it. Went bye the ATT store to peek at an Iphone. Needless to say its a puny POS.
 
I love the screen size and that was one of the reasons I bought it in the 1st place. I could never go back to anything smaller. I do everything on my phone and the EVO just makes it better and easier to use. I'm one of those people that sleep with my phone and if I actually leave the house without it freak and have to turn around and go back for it. No matter how far the drive!

Yeah I picked up the demo Hero at BB and I swore they shrunk the phone to half its normal size. I thought the Evo felt huge the first day or so but now it just feels normal and everything else feels abnormally small.

I do not miss my Hero at all.
 
Absolutely, positively love the screen size. Can't imagine it any bigger - but wouldn't want to give up a single millimeter of screen real estate.
 
I hate it. It makes everything look bigger and clearer. I liked it better when I had to squint to see something on my phone. Squinting made me look cooler :)
 
It look like everyone got almost the same opinion, back in the day like 10 years ago I got my first cell from my mom and I was like Damn this thing is so small it was a Nokia and always thought phone were going to get smaller and now I got this great phone and I love the size

my kids used to nag me all the time to use my ipod touch, and I never let them cause I was always on it,since I got my evo on launch day, I've only used the ipod when I have to and that's n not often. I hate it's size now, bigger is better in my case.
 
I am the same way. I had 2 ipod touches. And everytime I used them or any other phone. It didn't feel right. My next phone if ANY as to have a big screen. That's bus like when i am way hi.g tv at how on my 65 plasma Then I go to someone else with a 42" lcd. its just not right.
 
I have an iPod Touch also that I used at the gym. Now when I pull it out the size seems awkward and small.

I can't imagine getting anything less than 4 after this.
 
Love the big screen. Picked up my old Centro the other day and wondered how I lived so long with that tiny thing.
 
I don't think I can never go back to any phone with screen smaller than my EVO! What I love is I get to make the statement "That's what she said" everytime anyone made the comment "That's huge!" :D
 
I got the EVO used it for a month and swapped it for an iPhone 4.

I'll tell you, it is a bit odd going back down to a smaller screen. After using the EVO I think all phones should be 4.3" just as long the bezel is under control. This is why I think the Droid X is too big even though they have the same size screen.

Design wise I think the EVO is the best looking 4.3" screen phone. If only it were a bit thinner like the HD2.
 
I came from a palm pre and being an old guy with old eyes I truly appreciate the big screen.

It is way too small :D That is why I am still waiting on the Dell Streak :eek:

And yes, my motorcycle is way too fast too :rolleyes:
 
The only reason I bought the phone was the big screen. I can't stand full touch screen phones, but the EVO with Swype is better than any QWERTY phone I've ever owned.

Also when I was phone shopping my only qwerty options were the Droid (barely usable keyboard) and the Moment.
 
Its funny, people nag on the 'huge' size of the evo on the forums. Not once, have I had any of my iPhone friends complain in real life. The phones are physically so close in size anyhow.

I like the screen size. I can't go back to those small phones either. Any bigger would be a no go for me.
