Biggest Annoyance with M8

Wish the screen was a hair wider & lose the black bar to accomodate a larger screen.

Otherwise,I'm giving the M8 a solid 9.5 out of 10.

Sounds like a [?rogue] app that won't go to sleep. Install 'GSam Battery Monitor' from the Play Store to see what may be keeping the phone awake. The opening screen and then open the "sweeper icon" at bottom left to see which apps are consuming the most juice.

Kernel and Android OS by leaps and bounds over the other apps. Something is definitely causing the radios to not fully deep sleep. If wanted I'll start a different thread to discuss.

I can delete music from the music app but in any file manager I can't move, copy,or delete files on the ext sd. Rlly need to root this phone

You'll be glad you did! :D

My biggest annoyance has been the phone is really slippery. I put a case on it, and it isn't a problem anymore. :)

K just used weaksauce to root finally! Yay didn't know it was gunna be that easy on Verizon version cuz I didn't want to unlock boot loader and s off for permanent root and have my data erased since I'm low on data usage and my WiFi usage haha

I put a case on my after the first day for that very reason. That has been the only thing about the phone that I've found to be a problem for me. Otherwise, it's been the best device I've owned. Rock solid and will highly recommend.

Also hate how short the stock charger is haha. Have to sleep on opposite side of the bed to use the device even tho not to much a problem since battery is amazing. My dad's HTC Windows phone came with a long ass charger I wonder if it would still charge just as quickly with it?

I would have but Never was much a fan of cases. Only phone I've ever damaged was an iPhone and I ran over it well a couple ppl ran over it. Still worked tho

The on-screen navigation keys is really the only gripe I have. I don't like how the space bar and the home button are right on top of each other when typing. I've hit the home key while trying to hit the space bar a couple times.

If it's in my shirt pocket, as I'm walking the tap to wake activates - going to have to go to the gym to get rid of my moobs :)

This is the first case I've ever owned. I'm not particularly fond of the case. It hides the beauty of the phone. It does make it far easier to hang on to though.

I'll have to admit that I've done this myself. I figured it was due to my fat fingering but now that you have mentioned it... yes, it could have been laid out a bit better in that regard.

1. I HATE having the power button at the top.

2. +1 on the length. If it's because of the speakers, I'd much rather have basic speakers to make it shorter.

3. This might be a KitKat issue, but I absolutely HATE not having a "menu" button on the home screen. SUPER annoying.

That said, I still love this phone. If I had to make the decision again today, I'd make the same one. Unless the Prime were a reality today. Then I might get that instead.

I wasn't crazy about it originally, with the skin case that I was using at the time. While the button was difficult to reach in some situations, the biggest problem was that it was too easy to turn the screen on accidentally. My current case leaves the power button recessed and I'm much happier with it.

I came from a Droid Razr MAXX and thought the length would bother me, but I got used to it fast. I don't even think about it anymore.

I've gotten used to holding down the task switcher button. It's definitely a KitKat issue, though, unless you have a phone with dedicated keys.

Not crazy about the way the lens on the Prime sticks out, assuming the render is accurate. I love the sleekness of the M8, even though I keep it in the smartphone analogue of a Burqa . . . :D

root+Xposed+manage external sd = sorted ;)

Generally not something you have to root for. If HTC had developed a Stock File Manager you would be able to use it to manage the files on the SD Cards. This is why Samsung Phones don't have that issue.

Hopefully they roll out an update with a File Manager built-in, even if just a basic one.

Some users don't want to have to hack their phones just to avoid plugging it into a PC to clean up their SD Card File System.

Those camera bumps actually decrease the likelyhood of lens scratches.

I prefer one, or I put a case on the phone to get the lens off the ground if it's flat like that.

Feel less scared with a [Flagship] Lumia or iPhone because the lenses on those devices are higher quality than what you get on an HTC or Samsung phone. They're a lot more scratch resistant.
