Bionic Extended Battery Question

forgive me if this has been asked but i'm looking into the motorola bw8x extended battery for the bionic. I've been searching and believe it or not I found the cheapest with the extended door to be from Verizon 24.99 and I want to get another case im looking at the Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible EXTENDED BATTERY TPU Case for Motorola Droid Bionic 4G (Verizon)
my question is has anyone bought this and how big does it make your phone? I currently use an otterbox not sure which one just a bulky black one my work provided and don't want it much bigger then that. Also do you have to use the extended case the battery plus the Diztronic case to make it work or just the Diztronic.

The extended battery plus the diztronic case will probably be pretty compatible to your otterbox. The extended battery will add some girth but it's worth it. I have the extended battery and the diztronic case and love it.

I just bought my Bionic recently and have been debating on the same setup--this thing eats batteries like a bottomless pit.

The case itself I saw on ebay(pricey for what it is). I tried it out in a cell phone accessory store in the mall and found the volume controls to be a bit on the small side. The volume buttons are covered completely, and they barely raise up on the outside of the TPU. I put my phone in it and had a really tough time adjusting the volume.
