Help bionic going crazy when charging.....

hi there. i'm new to the forum.

i've had the bionic since release day, and i'm actually on my third one. i've had pretty much every bug listed on moto's forum.

now this thing is going haywire when i use it when charging. random apps open, random letters appear when i text, etc. i'm using the stock charging cord and base it came with, and have tried different wall outlets and usb ports.

i've tried hard reset, battery pull (on all three i've owned actually  )

anyone else have this issue?

thanx

I would point at the charger. I'd had this issue with the OG Droid using a Walmart issue cigarette light wall charger. I needed a charger for my Droid so I decided to buy the one that allowed you to use your vehicle charger. First thing I noticed was my phone randomly opening stuff and pressing buttons while not in use. As soon as I unplugged it it stopped. I don't use that charger anyone but when I did I would just plug it in and turn off the screen. It would charge just fine. Seeing that it occurs while your usb is plugged in as well it could be the wire itself shorting somewhere. Try a different usb wire if you have one? Definitely try an exchange if possible.

Actually, since it is happening with both wall sockets and USB ports, replace the USB cable first.

Yeah I had the SAME issue, I was using a moto charger, not sure if its the exact 1 that came in the box or not, but it looks exactly like it should. When plugged in and swyping it acts like I'm picking my finger up when I'm not and its typing weird words, also the sensitivity is terrible when plugged in, so I changed chargers and it works fine now, but it's really weird that it won't work right on that 1 charger, it works fine on the other charger and car charger. I discovered it 1 morning when my alarm was going off n it wouldn't let me touch to snooze!!!

I have a Droid X and a Bionic. I got the Droid X about two years ago and the Bionic on release day.

They both have chargers and USB cables that look identical.

I have both chargers plugged into the same outlet. I always charge the Droid X on the Droid X charger. I always charge the Bionic on the Bionic charger.

Having read the Bionic User Manuel I have never had a desire to put my Bionic on my Droid X charger.

I have not had power problems with either device.

I think a lot of the problems we end up seeing in this forum are caused by defective batteries that in some cases were made defective by how they were charged.
