Help Bionic OFFICIAL bug fix in November!

I don't get number 4
The XT875 can only be charged with Motorola or Verizon Wireless branded chargers.
I use a non branded charger all the time.

Same for number 5 and non branded USB cables.

yeah I think I still use my blackberry charger. Not everyone is experiencing all these bugs. These are just the ones reported.

the 3G issue is the only bug I'm experiencing. I haven't even heard the headphone issue that people are talking about.

oops, left out part of what I meant to copy/paste:

  • The XT875 can only be charged with Motorola or Verizon Wireless branded chargers.
  • Action: No work around required.
  • Resolution: No resolution required, working as designed and approved by Verizon Wireless.
The confusing part I was referring to was that it is only suppose to work with Motorola/Verizon chargers and cables and not others.

What about the power issue, when your screen goes black and the only way to get it back up is by pulling the battery??

Perhaps your "fix" is to take it back and get a new phone. Warranties are great like that. I have yet to have any issues like that with my Bionic.

For you rooted folks, this update WILL unroot your phone ... and there's no root available for it yet. I'm going to decline the update and wait until the devs can either root the update, or pull the goodies out of it and apply a rooted version of the update.

I took my phone back to Verizon and they exchanged phone for a new one, I was two days past the 14 day exchange. Great service!

Now if Verizon can only fix the 3G-4G signal drops and the camera...... November seems so far away......

I think it is ridiculous that they would release the phone with such major flaws, especially with data connectivity issues which is one of the primary reasons to have a smartphone. It seems that I keep losing data connection more and more frequently for no apparent reason.

To make us wait until November seems a bit absurd to me.

It seems a bit absurd to me that you PRESUME that every Bionic is afflicted with "ridiculous" "major flaws". I have had very few issues either with data connectivity or anything else. if you despise the phone, perhaps you should get a refund?

If I hadn't read about the earphone buzz I wouldn't have noticed it. Its very faint with my phone and nothing I'll complain about. The one bug I have had a few repeats of is one that makes half the screen black but it clears up by touching the screen. Otherwise I'm lovin the phone

Yes, yes we all know you LOVE your Bionic. I also love mine, but I know a lot of people are having the power issue. Seems odd to me that so many people would have a lemon and need to return it.

I am convinced that a lot has to do with either the place were they were built, when they were built or what version of the software the phone was released with, mine was released with version 5.5886.X875.Verizon.en.US and I have not had any of the issues described in this forum at all.

I just spent the weekend away from home and out of 4g range. I rebooted, I did airplane mode but could not get data on the phone. Magically as we drove home data returned.

any chance you were up by Shasta when you lost data coverage?

Before I got the HD dock I used a Blackberry charger at home and I am using an HTC charger at work. Both work fine. I also have an ancient car charger that I bought when I got my BB Storm like 4 phones ago and it works fine.

However I was only able to use the USB cable that came with the Bionic to link it to my laptop. I tried a cable that came with an old blackberry and a cable that came with my Droid X and both would link it to my laptop to charge but no data connection.

I just tried the cable that came with my DroidX and it works. The cable that came with my DroidX dock also works. The cable that came with my Bionic also works.

dave I'm so happy for you. I will most likely sleep better tonight knowing that you have been spared from these issues.

however, I agree with reverence, there are MANY bionic users complaining about these issues. The biggest one (3G/4G issues) was known BEFORE launch, and verizon retail stores were emailed LAUNCH DAY regarding the issue. And we have to wait 2 months before we get decent 3G service (those of us who haven't been graced with working phones like you and many others)

hrm...maybe this explains my problem of trying to pull picture files off my phone. everytime I select the files I want and click "cut", then go to a folder on my computer and click "paste" windows stops working.

As long as everyone keep dropping what there doing and buying not ready for release phones, the companies know it no big deal. Quality insurance doesnt matter because there is the "gotta have the newest crowd no matter what"
"I cant go to Cosco, cause I'm in school, but my dad will go get me one!"
Why cant people wait a week and read the forums and then see the problems, then make a informed decision...lol
Glad I waited.
