I have filled the birthday and/or anniversary column of contacts I have in my SGSII. Those dates got marks on the calendar already. But on the specified date I got no alarm reminder from my SGS II.

I think what you have to do is go to the event via the Calendar. Select the event and edit it. At the bottom you'll find the settings to set a reminder for the event.
And you'll have to do this for all of them, I think...
