Help Bizarre battery issue - help?! Please!!!

Install BetterBatteryStats from the Market and set its defaults to "Partial wakelocks" and "Since charged". Charge the handset fully, reboot then use as normal. After a few hours open BetterBatteryStats and it will show any apps preventing deep-sleep, the most likely cause of unusual drain.

Thanks for that. Is that different to Watchdog in terms of what it does or should I run them both simultaneously?

Sorry to be a numpty but what's deep sleep as opposed to the normal screen-off type sleep?

Thanks a lot

Running both won't cause any problems. BBS simply presents some of Android's 'hidden' data to the user.

When idle the CPU should clock down to a minimum setting, reduce voltage and basically go into 'life support'. Processes running in the background will require processor activity, obviously disturbing this (by generating a wakelock), but for the majority of the time the handset sits idle it should be in this state. BBS will reveal if anything is causing excessive wakelocks and thus effectively preventing the CPU from entering the power-saving mode. You can already get an idea from the "Awake" history under the battery usage graph - BBS expands on that by going into more detail.

I hope that made some sort of sense? :o
