Help Bizarre phone behavior

So this morning my phone is acting up in strange ways. When I left for work, the phone was displaying the fully charged message. I got into work and the full battery symbol was still in the notification bar. No big deal, I thought powering off and back on would fix the problem. Well, in order to power back up, I have to have the phone plugged in to the wall charger or it just displays the big green battery indicator. I powered down pulled the battery for several minutes and still had to power up while plugged in. This time, after I unplugged the wall chager I got a message that usb was connected?!? I'm on stock 2.2 with the latest update. Any ideas on what to do?

Mine did the same thing! I didnt do anything to it, but after a month I was able to turn it on without being plugged in. But every once in a while the fully charged indicator wont go off in the notification bar, even when I unplug it. It didnt do it until I did the Froyo update

I called Verizon about my issue and they sent me a refurb unit and told me so send mine in. The tech thought it might be a bad charging port causing my issue.
