Help black bars on fullscreen

EnIXmA

Newbie
so whenever I play a video on full screen there are these two huge black bars on the right and left side of the screen. It makes the viewable area very small. I see those bars in you tube videos in full screen too. Is there any way to get rid of these black bars and enjoy the full 4.65 inch screen while watching videos in full screen?

i dont know but it may have something to do with Video settings or that particular video itself... does it do it for all of them?

It depends on the source. Most 720P/1080P videos on YouTube should use all of the phone's screen. Try this video as an example and tell us what you get; as it's 720P on my phone and using the entire screen.

As for converted movies you put on your phone, do a search. In one simple statement, it has to do with the original movies aspect ratio and how it was filmed.

thnx. i checked the video and it plays on the full screen. You are right, old videos are giving those black bars.
