Help Black Screen of Death - device will not turn on

So my gf's Bionic rebooted itself twice yesterday, and the second time, it just turned off. And now we can't turn it on -- we tried a battery pull, replacement with a fully charged battery, and even leaving it plugged in all night. No success. Seems totally dead to me.

I searched about this topic and it seems that for everyone else who experienced the BSOD a battery pull fixed it -- but that is not working for us.

Any thoughts? TIA

Yeah, read Thom's post in the other thread where you posted. my advice is exactly what he said.

I experienced a similar situation with my first Bionic and the fixes appear to be hit or miss. Unfortunately, a battery pull didn't fix mine, and neither did any of the solutions referenced here, at VZW, or on Motorola's support pages/forums.

As a result, VZW honored the manufacturers warranty and issued a replacement (which interestingly enough, is getting better battery life, among other things). Time will tell how this unit holds up, but if you exhaust all attempts, most certainly get yourself (GF) a replacement.

Yup, same here, tried everything suggested -- nothing worked. Device is dead. Replacement is on way.

This really stinks -- I've seen smartphones conk out in many different ways, but this is a first.

Even a replacement comes at a major cost -- about 48hours without a functioning device, at least a couple hours reconfiguring the new device and getting it back to how the previous one was.

Oh well, I hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for y'all's help,
