Root black screen of death???

first of all i would like to say im not sure where to put this. and i hate to double post my own threads like this. but when i left this in troubleshooting, i nearly got 50 views and no replies....so im gonna try here.

well, my phone was previously rooted, rom'd, themed, and overclocked...all that good stuff. and i went to back to stock.

and well now im stuck at the "PHONE--!--PC" screen.
i can get it into DL mode, and i can get it into "android system recovery <2a>" and will show up on Odin as connected, but my computer will not recognize it as pluged into the computer if i wanted to look in the files on my SD card or anything.

im just curious as to how i can get my phone back up and running again.
seems like the stock recovery i used didnt do anything. when the phone tries to reboot after Odin, it just goes into the android recovery screen.

my options are: reboot system now
apply sdcaed update.zip
wipe data/fact reset
wipe cache

i can wipe both. SD card is empty, so i do not have update.zip on it, and dont know how to get it on there with the computer not reading the phone. and when i hit reboot it goes to the samsung screen and stays there for a little and then goes back into recovery mode.

here is what the screen looks like when i turn it on:

As long as download mode works and Odin recognizes the phone, download the DI01 all-in-one cureall file and use Odin to push it to your phone. That has been known to solve many-a-brick.
Just make sure to use the PDA tab in Odin, not the phone tab...

That's a soft brick. Did you odin to stock or flash an old rom to get there?

at first i just flashed back to stock. then my baseband was different than everything else or something like that. and it would not allow my texts to go through, so i tried to odin the stock stuff. and when that froze up, i think i had a bad dl, it put the phone is this mode and i could not get it back out.

do you have a lin to the all-in-one?
the one i found i think was the one that may have put me in this problem in the first place. but if you know of one that for sure works, a link would be a great help!

thanks guys for the help! hopefully she will be back up and running very soon!

my only problem is, i think i need that "update.zip" on my SD card, and well, i popped a new SD card in this phone because my new phone i got, i wanted all my pics on that one, i lost that one, now im trying to go back to this one. there is no rom manager on my phone, and the new SD card is 100% empty, so i dont have the update.zip anymore. i hopefully do not need this to get my phone up and running again, do i?

if you can turn the phone off. plug it into the computer. shut it down ( still hooked to usb) and power it back on while its still connected to the usb cable.

i couldnt get my computer to find my phone and that above steps fixed it .

Had bsod on sprint galaxy S. Pulled battery till screen went black, reinserted
battery, plugged in usbjig and screen went back to download mode.Had odin
ready on laptop, plugged phone into laptop, via usb cable: got yellow com box and flashed away. From what i've read, might have got to that point because
battery dropped below 50%.
