Help black screen

Only had my Xperia Z1 for 3 weeks and tonight it refused to switch on but on close examination I found I could slightly make out icons on my screen, I actually put my music on which took me ages to turn off cos the screen was black. On another forum I read that this has happened to someone on 3 separate phones Mine is being collected at my house for another one. If you YouTube. Random Defective Display / Screen Problem Warning you'll see what I mean. Is this currently happening to anyone else?????

It's not happened to me, but I know similar problems have been reported when people toggle optimised back light in the display settings.

Hi, I randomly switched my music on then it took ages for me to find where to switch it off. There are vids on YouTube then describes exactly what these phones are doing. Gonna be getting another from O2 but feel the problem will happen again and again. Could it be a software issue?????
